Do I need to reserve a Lightning Lane for a ride to be able to use the Single Rider line?

Read something about that earlier today. Have a trip planned for Thursday, about 90% sure I'm going, started at DCA and want to take advantage of Single Rider for RSR and Incredicoaster while I get a LL for Guardian's Tower, try to knock those three out before the morning is over so I can bounce over to Disneyland for the rest of the day.

Okay, awesome. Think my plan then would be to get a LL for Guardian's Tower and do RSR Single Rider while I wait, then if I still have time do Incredicoaster Single Rider before GT, or do GT first if the Lightning Lane is ready by then and then Incredicoaster Single Rider afterwords. Then a short break at the Terrace for a drink (wanted to try an Avalon Cooler) before I go to Disneyland.

Im a solo visitor to Disneyland. Single rider lines are separate lines. They are marked with overhead signs
At Radiator Springs, the single rider line is the left lane, lightening lane is the middle and standby is the right.
At Web Slingers, its a bit harder to figure out, lightening lane is the left, single rider is the middle and standby is the right.
In Galaxys Edge, at Millennium Falcon, the single rider entrance is on the left but then down the corridor it divides into two , and you can go up the stairs on the left or up the stairs on the right.

One thing to note about the single rider lines is that they are like the lightning lanes and you miss all the theming of the standby lines.

I have never rode single rider where a CM wasn't at the beginning of the queue telling me what line to get into. Most of the time it is the CM who is separating LL from standby that directs guests.

My daughter and I once rode Soarin as single riders. I was sent to the theater on the right and she was sent to the left. There were maybe 3 people in front of each of us in the single rider lines. She saw the first showing after she got in line. I had to wait for four shows before I was seated!!! The CM at the front of my line kept walking up and down the standby line asking for parties of 3, 2 or 1 to fill any empty seats rather than grabbing single riders.

Something similar happened on Space Mountain. The CM at the front of the queue who tells guests what number to stand on to board, couldn't keep track of the rows where he only had one person. He never utilized the single rider line. Instead, the people in the single rider line had to shout "single rider" so that he turned around and saw that there was a space for a single rider to board.

Well I'll still try. If it ends up being a long wait anyway for RSR then I'll probably just use LL for the next one and find something else to fill the in-between.

What are the lines like at Earl of Sandwich? Wanted to give their breakfast sandwich a try to start my day, heard the sauce they use is really good.

Our kids refuse to wait in line for Radiator Springs Racers so we do single rider. I think the longest we have waited in the single rider line is about 10-12 minutes.

Oh wow, that's good.

I probably don't even need Genie+ with that kind of a wait.

IMHO single rider is most advantageous for the following rides: Radiator Springs Racers, Webslingers, Goofy’s Sky School, Matterhorn and Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run. I find it less useful and unpredictable for Incredicoaster and Space Mountain. I have not used it for Soarin. If you have LLMP, you should have no problem riding IC, RSR and GotG before park hopping to DL @ 11:00 am.
