Do I need the dining package

No.

We always walk in 5 minutes before the show and get good seats. Unless you are a huge fan of one of the singers and want front row, there is always ample seating in the next section up and in the back.

I've never seen the theater full for the Broadway series (sadly) - we love it and go often.

I saw two 5:30 pm shows this past week- one as standby and one with the dining package. I was by myself. I walked up for the first show at about 5:00 pm and did get a seat but they seemed to fill the show. Just beware in the back there are some trees that obstruct views - try to sit on the aisle if you can. I did a package the next day as the weather forecast was rain all day and I wanted to make sure I would sit in the front covered area of the theater. I did the Regal Eagle QS package which is the cheapest one and requires no reservations. With tax, it was about $37 and included an entree, drink and dessert. The food was good and I essentially paid $10 extra for the seat as the food value was about $27. I arrived at 12:30 pm and they still had tickets for all three shows, but if there is one time you specifically want, I would probably go earlier to be safe. My seat for that show was fantastic. Highly recommend last row in the roped off section, on the aisle, next to the stage. If you plan on going to the finale on Feb. 21, I would definitely do a package- I think it will be packed.
