Do I need my paper tickets to get in the gate? Or is the app enough?

I have a debate going with dh and was hoping for input from you guys. Hypothetically speaking, if I forgot our tickets at home, but had already scanned them into my app, could I just use that to get into the parks? I know the paper tickets are still needed for paper FPS and fantasmic...but if I’m using MP, do I need the paper tickets?

They will print your ticket at the gate if it’s scanned in from the app initially.

I buy online and scan into the app and they print out the tickets after scanning my phone. I keep the original print out just in case but I’ve never used it, likewise now with my official paper tickets. I keep them but never use them. We just use the app to get in to the parks.

The only reason I can think of that you would need a paper copy of your tickets is if your phone has issues that morning. I don't think that is all that likely to happen (but it has happened to me - my phone decided to get stuck in a loop of restarting and shutting down while I was standing in line at the ticket gate and it took me about an hour to get out of that loop - so now it's something that I do think about when dealing with things that involve needing a working phone).

Just as a safety back up, have your husband scan the tickets into his app, too, and have photos of the tickets with clear images of the bar codes and numbers on your phones. That way, in case your phone acts up, you can use your husband's phone at the gates. And if the app goes wonky, you'll have the photos with the bar codes.
