Do I need early bird check-in?

I am traveling with my husband and three children to Orlando in December on Southwest. I purchased early bird check-in for my husband and two of my children, but I am leaning towards not purchasing it for myself and my middle daughter.

Here is my reasoning... let me know if you know of anything different. My middle daughter has a severe peanut allergy so in the past when we have flown Southwest I have been given a pre-boarding pass to board with her to clean the area. If this is the usual case with SWA then buying early bird check-in for us two wouldn't actually be beneficial, right?

Thanks!

That should be fine. Just explain to the gate attendent as soon as you get there. You will be allowed to board with your dd with the medical preboards. The rest of the family can board in their spots.
