Do you need ADR's at Kona? And am I going to look ridiculous for dining there alone?

I'm going to Orlando the week before Easter for a seminar and am dying to try Kona! We've never been before, but I'm sure it's going to be super busy that week. Do they generally take ADR's? Has anyone ever dined there alone? Do they do "take out?" So I could just get my meal and eat it elsewhere? Thanks!

I think you will need an ADR, even for 1 the week before Easter. I would encourage you to go and enjoy your meal. You will not be out of place eating alone. If you are comfortable eating alone in another restaurant, it is the same here. I do not think you can order Take Out and have the same experience.
Go and enjoy yourself

I've eaten there twice solo and never felt out of place. Go. Enjoy. And make a ADR.

I ate solo at Kona solo in January. I had a great time! My server was great and I had a wonderful meal. Don't worry, you won't look like a freak!!!

If you think you'll feel funny - I always did when I was on a business trip, so I understand where you're coming from - you could try both Flying Fish (Boardwalk) and Jiko (AKL) since they have a bar setup for single diners. The bar looks into the kitchen so you can watch the chefs.

I've seen lots of single dinners at WDW, tho. They don't look out of place at all, and, after a day at the parks being waist deep in humanity, I kinda envy them!

When you're dining alone you may want to bring a small book, newspaper or notebook to have somewhere to park your eyes.

By all means go and enjoy! :goodvibes No reason to miss out!
If it is not jamming, ask for a booth. If you try to get an ADR for 'off' hours, this will be more possible.

I have gone out to eat many times solo--inc. WDW--and once you get that one under yr belt you'll never hesitate again!

Kona is great! :thumbsup2

I always eat at Kona for my solo trips, I love the place.
Definatly make an ADR.
There are a few small booths for 2 over on the right side of Kona, I always ask to sit there so I won't be out in the middle of the restaurant by myself.
