Do I get the Disney Rewards Visa or not?

I am proud to say that I haven't had a credit card in several years. I am, however, now considering getting the Disney Rewards Visa with the $200 in rewards promotion. We will be going to WDW in 3-4 years (when my newborn gets older) so we will be saving money over an extened period of time. So my question is: Is this really worth getting? I plan on using it basically for gas/food expences only.

I use mine to pay all my utilities (gas, electric, phone, internet, cable, cell phone), gas, groceries. I also use it to pay for our trips and pay it off at the same time. The rewards dollars do add up this way. If you are sure that you can pay off your balance every month I say go for it! I actually pay mine online every time I make a charge. I've got about $300 in rewards right now from the past year.

The only reason I got mine was for the free picture at EPCOT- I usually use discover for the cash back. BUT on my last trip, I paid part on my Disney Visa. Luckily for me:) they did the kids eat/play and stay free promo and I was able to get some $ back:thumbsup2 So yes I'm extremely happy to this card!

Overall, I use my Discover card for everything so I can use the cash back anywhere instead of wrapping it all up in Disney. But I'll keep the Visa for the free pictures at Epcot.

We got ripped off though. I didn't realize there were so many different promotions and went directly to the Chase site and ordered my card. I could have gone through the Disney site and at the very least gotten the $50 credit. Since I knew we were planning a trip, I really could have used the promotion. When I called Chase, they basically told me there was nothing they could offer me. Grrr.

Going to cancel it when we get back from our trip.

I did this and I think it's definitely worth it if you plan on going to WDW. You can earn rewards for your trip, just don't order a rewards card till about 3 months before your trip, because the actual reward cards can expire in about a year.

A NO brainer...get it, use it, pay it off with no interest and get FREE $$! ;) It basically pays our way thru multiple vacations!:cheer2:

I do the same as a PP mentioned - I pay transfer the money for each transaction as soon as it is posted. I don't trust myself to wait until the end of the month. I pay for as many things as possible with my card. My daycare just started accepting credit cards and I'm pretty excited about that.

How long is the line for the Greet and Meet for cardholders at Epcot?

I cash out my rewards every $100 in reward dollars...have them put on your rewards card, then immediately order a Disney Giftcard from the Disney.com site. The disney giftcards do not expire, and you can apply them to any part of your trip, or take them with you as extra spending cash.

I also put almost all of my purchases on my card and pay it off each month. It is free money, as long as you are diligent about paying it off.

Not criticizing, just curious... Why do you do this? I let my rewards sit in my account until about 3 months before the next Disney trip. Then I order a rewards card with $20 on it, then transfer the balance of my rewards to the rewards card once I have it in my hands. I KNOW I'll use these rewards on my trip. Is there a benefit to buying disney gift cards all the time?

PS- OP, GET the Disney Card if for nothing other than the $200 in rewards! If you don't trust yourself to use it wisely and pay it off monthly, cut it up after you get the $200 gift card!!!
