Thinking of splitting my days between BWI and Poly. Is it really a move "up" to go from the BWI to Poly, or does it even matter? My trip is in May, and since park hours have not been released yet for May, I am not sure which order I will be doing the parks - so that really doesn't factor in the decision right now. My children are ages 9, 14, and 16 (if that makes any difference).

You have chosen my two favorite resorts! I would personally finish up the vacation with the resort closest to your favorite park. We stay the first 3 nights at a Magic Kingdom resort and then the last 5 nights at an EPCOT (our favorite park) resort.

You can't lose with either way you choose...

This Aug we're starting w/5nights at Pop, then switching to WL for 3nights, then switching to BCV for the last 6nights

I'm not sure I'd say it's a move up or down...just "over". :) Both resorts have great pools and amenities, but the Poly does have that volcano slide, water sprites and the Luau if you so desire! Plus, if you think your kids would find it very "cool" to stay at a monorail resort, I'd do the Poly last.

Have fun!

You can't go wrong but I would recommend saving BWI for last. It's beautiful and I would say more relaxing (in spite of the Poly's tropical theme) So you could do your MK-Or-Bust/Commando/Monorail/Maniac :rockband:  stuff first and then enjoy a more leisurely pace on the Boardwalk afterwards :cloud9: - you can stroll to and from Epcot...especially nice after viewing IllumiNations and the masses are dragging themselves to the fron tof the park to get in their cars/buses/monorails. Don't forget to use the quiet Villa Pool :flower1: at BWI as well as the "Clown Pool"
Enjoy!

I honestly consider the Boardwalk Inn a little more luxurious than the Poly. I LOVE the decor of the rooms at the BWI, in fact, I think they are the prettiest on property. The lobby is really beautiful as well. The way they have the decorative elements combined is amazing. The jacuzzi by the quiet pool is oftentimes uninhabited while the Poly lacks a jacuzzi completely. The Poly has great atmosphere and there's nothing like those tiki torches lit up at night while you are watching the electric parade from the beach or your balcony. It's great, but I just find the Boardwalk slightly more luxurious for whatever reason..maybe it's just the theming.

The Poly is pretty relaxing, actually, while I find the Boardwalk being around more action. I would still end the trip at the Boardwalk because you could look forward to walking home to your resort after Illuminations, which is just plain wonderful.

Thanks for all the advice! Looks like I may need to change my order around when I make my ressies. Johnsonet, I really like your advice about doing the MK-or-bust first. I thought about doing it last, but my energy may be gone by the end of the trip. So Poly first, does make more sense.

Your kids are older - they are going to enjoy the rides at MGM and Epcot. Also, they will likely get a kick out of the Boardwalk. So I would agree with Poly first, then ending at the BWI.
