Are you looking for something free? I don't know about that, but we've been in touch with VWL room service to order a cake for DS's birthday during our stay.
I got balloons and a card from Mickey at SSR last year for my birthday. And this past May we treated friends to a stay at BCV, and my friend, Angela, got balloons and a card, and a towel clown from Mousekeeping for her birthday.
I think it depends. We had two birthdays on our last trip and I said something at check in and we didn't get anything. I was going to order a cake, but with the dining plan we had enough food.
I mentioned about my Daughters birthday when I made the reservation and there was a "package" for us at check in (signed picture from Mickey) as well as balloons and card on the door . Also the cm's at Cindys were really great about it. All signed a card as well as a small cake. Really made her day.
Last summer I went to the OKW desk to try to arrange a birthday phone call-- I don't think we ever got that to work-- and were surprised with balloons and an autographed picture of Jasmine for my DD.
I called the WL for our stay at the VWL this past May, She said, "What day"?
That morning when we opened the door there was a balloon bouquet with a card to me from Mickey. It really made my Day and I'm the adult. I can only think what this would do for a child. I would call, don't do it at check-in. They probably have to order it, The card is personalized and hand signed as Mickey signs.
Last year, the BCV left my sis a balloon and a 'mickey candy bar' cake and a birthday towel thingie. This was about 6 weeks after a disasterous stay at the BWV though. Don't know if the two had anything to do with each other.
This October we will be there celebrating my DH and her DH's birthday's, so we'll see.
My DD got engaged the day before we left for disney (I know, to bad he didn't wait until we got to disney) and I told the front desk at SSR when we checked in. They got balloons and a card congratulating them from Mickey and Minnie.
I'm feeling a little saucy today. Just to the pot....
Who pays for these freebies?
