Do DVC members still get a room key that they can charge all purchases to?

If you can charge your purchases to your room via your room key, is it possible to have a positive balance on your reservation when you check in? I have done this before at All Star Movies but wasn't sure if you can do this under a DVC reservation. (we're not DVC owners yet, but hopefully by our trip in Feb!!)
thanks!

AFAIK, you can't send money in ahead of time to be credited to your DVC resort account - no way to do that when you pay with points. If you were booking for cash via CRO, you could "overpay" like you have done at the All Stars and have a "positive" balance when you check in.

At check in, you could certainly give the front desk cash, disney dollars or travelers' checks, etc. to be credited to the account if you are trying to pay for your food & souvenirs before you arrive.

Best wishes -

I believe that you need to leave a CC at check-in to be able to use your room key for charges. The limit we've had a BWV/OKW is $1500. But you can pay it off everyday if you wish with cash, disney dollars or a check so your CC does not get billed. Please correct me if someone has had a different experience.

We just stayed at GC on points. That is exactly what we did - left a CC for charges to the room - they gave us a slip of paper with our signature, however, that we had to show along with our ID. :sunny:
