Do DVC members have to pay for fitness centers & child care centers?

When we signed up w/ DVC they made it seem like the use of the fitness centers and child care centers were free for DVC members? What's the true story? THANKS!

I don't know about the child care. I'm single so I didn't ask. I did ask about the fitness center and it was free to DVC members. I even went into the one at VWL last time I was there just looking around and asked the CM behind the counter. He verified that was correct.

The fitness facilities are free to DVC members but not the child care centers. Wouldn't that be great?

All WDW resort guests must pay to use the child care centers, including DVC members. I have never used them, but most people are very happy with the experience their children have at them.

I personnally think that the day care service at Disney is a bargain. It is $8.00 an hour and that sometimes includes a meal.
I don't go on vacation to put my kid in a day care, but my 5 year old seen the facility and all of the fun activities and wanted to stay. I let him stay for a couple of hours while my wife and I went to ESPN.
My son loved it!
The kid's have games, video games, activities, arts and crafts, etc.
The staff was top notch!

just a little add-on: the fitness centers are free to dvc members staying on points. if you happen to have a cash ressie for part of your stay, the facilities aren't available free of charge for those days.

Thanks for the info! I love these boards. I agree that the $8 an hour price is a bargain, but I do feel that we were a bit misled during our sales pitch. It was made out to be that it was all free for DVC members. I never thought I'd plan to use a fitness center on vacation, but my husband & I have commited ourselves to regular weight trainging and don't want to take a whole week off from it. I used to feel that just getting up for those EE days & all the walking was enough of a workout. THANKS AGAIN!
