Do DVC members get upgrades if use points

We are looking to book our first cruise using vacation points. I was wondering has anyone had any experience getting upgraded?

I read on a thread a few weeks ago that someone that had used their DVC points were upgraded, but that's the only one I have heard about, I'm sure it is quite rare!!!

Does anyone know what time the 3-day Wonder cruises usually set sail from Nassau and Castaway Cay? Thinking of planning our Palo dinner around when we set sail.

As for your questions, I've seen several DVCers who have gotten upgrades when booking with points. We booked a category 11 for January and I'm hoping for an upgrade, but I'll be happy with my little room no matter what!

On the 3 day cruise, all ashore is 10:30 and the Wonder Leaves port at 11pm. For Castaway Cay, all aboard is 4:30 and the ship leaves at 5pm.

I have heard of DVC'ers getting them on the wonder but never on the magic. But then again upgrades as a whole are much rarer on the magic.
