Do DVC members get discounts for cash DL or WDW resort stays?

Do DVC members get discounts (i.e. 10, 20, 30%) on cash booked hotel room stays at the DL or WDW resort hotels like AP holders sometimes do? I've been going back and forth about where to buy and after doing many calculations last night I have decided that VGC would make the most sense. I was also thinking about purchasing resale points at a place I would like to stay in WDW also and would try to use those points to make a 7 months out at VGC sometimes. However, if I couldn't I was wondering if DVC membership would give me a cash discount on a DL resort hotel stay. I know you can use direct purchase points to book the DLH or PP but since I would be buying resale that wouldn't be an option. Thanks of any info you have on this.

There is a 25% discount on DVC Rooms only, if booked on cash through Member Services. The discount is not always available.

There is no discount on regular cash resort hotel rooms booked through Disney.

Do people do this when they don't have any points left to use or don't want to use their points for the stay? Are these reservations made at the 7 month mark or later, or can they be made in the 11-7 month window also? How do they calculate the cash rate? I know david's dvc costs $13 per point. Is it the same? Does the amount for the stay have to be paid right when you make the reservation or is it paid when you check out?

Ok, this is for WDW only. I guess the same applies for the Grand Californian? In other words, 25% off the rack rate but the stay would only be in one of the DVC villas if available? Just trying to understand. Sorry for my confusion. Thank you!

You need to remember that there are only 23 Dedicated 2BR villas - 23 Lockoffs - 2 Grand Villas at VGC so the competition to book can be tough.

You can get an annual pass holder discount on regular rooms though and you get a pretty good price on the annual pass being a DVC member.

I have an AP. The current discount is 10%. I went ahead and booked the DLH. There might be a deeper AP or general public discount later too.
