Do Disney gift cards expire?

We want to start saving for our Disney trip...Fall 2013. Yeah, I know, 2 1/2 years. Buying Disney gift cards would be forced savings. However, do they expire? Or do you have to start paying a fee after a certain time?

As always, many thanks.

No and no. :goodvibes

not sure if you'd be interested in this little tip or not, but I've been doing something similar - forced savings for our Disney trip this coming September - you don't have to buy multiple gift cards. You can just keep adding more money to one card if you do it at the Disney store.
I didnt want to have to keep track of a bunch of GCs so I just take my card to the store each week and add what I've budgeted for....

Everytime I go to grocery store, I buy a card (25 or 50 depending on budget). Just counted them and I have $950.00 worth! We are doing the dream in October. My goal is to have enough to spend, tip and rebook on board. If it keeps going the way I am, I may add-on to my DVC lol.

We're doing the same thing! August 2013, but just bought a $20 GC the other day and will add $20 a month. Should add up to some nice spending money!!!:thumbsup2

I do the same thing. I live pretty far from a Disney store, but every time I go up to one of the bigger cities, I add $10-20 on the card. I also have a mailbox that I got on clearance for .50 after valentines day that I keep dollar bills and whatnot in to add to the savings.

Thanks. I thought it was no and no, but I wasn't sure.

Regarding the Disney store...we have a Disney store about 15 minutes from here. I may get one and start adding to that one. However, I also like to take advantage of deals with gift cards (e.g. Krogers 4X fuel points using gift cards). Or doesn't some stores offer gift cards around Christmas for less than face value?

Again thanks.

You're quite a bit ahead of us...only have $200 here so far
