Do CP'ers have to be present with family to give them comp tickets?

All Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies are issued complimentary tickets two twice per year.

Each of these tickets are valid for One-Day, ParkHopper use at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California; the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida; Disneyland Resort Paris in Marne-la-Vallée, France; and Hong Kong Disneyland on Lantau Island in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

These tickets do not require the Cast Member to whom they were issued to be present and are valid at any time until their expiration date. So Cast Members can give these tickets away to Friends and Family for their use, or use them to enter the parks on Main Entrance Pass Blackout dates.

The number of tickets each Cast Member and Employee receives is based upon the number of dependents they have listed in Company Records. Eligible dependents include: Spouses, Same-Sex Domestic Partners and Children. Those Cast Members and Employees who have no listed dependents will receive 2 tickets.

Someone can correct me if I read this wrong.. but I belive, at least at WDW (don't know about Disneyland), CP's do NOT get the comp tickets they give out twice a year. You have to be seasonal, part-time, or full-time to get these. CP's only get the maingates.

When I did the Fall adv back in the day we got comp tickets when there was the spring party for studios cast, christmas along with the winter booklet and if we sung at candlelight at Epcot.

I believe you are correct.

I keep forgetting about that part, lol.

Only Cast Members who hold Regular (Full Time) or Casual Ongoing (Casual Regular) status in SAP will receive Complimentary Tickets.

Cast Members who hold Casual Limited (Casual Temporary) status in SAP will receive Complimentary Tickets based on their work activity.

As such, most Walt Disney World Resort College Program participants, who are not statused anything in SAP, won't receive Complimentary Tickets. Disneyland Resort College Program participants, who hold Casual Regular status, will receive Complimentary Tickets on the same schedule as other Casual Regular Cast Members.

I have a related question about the main gate passes. When we went with my daughter, we could get fast passes with our " hoppers" that were issued, but since she used her id and didn't get a ticket, she could not get a fast pass! How do cp's get fast passes, or can they?

They can use their IDs for Fast Passes. They work in the machines.

So this might be off topic..but I feel like it kind of has to go with the discounts theme...
I finally got a professor to sponsor my internship, and for compensation I would like to invite him to come visit and get him 40% off his hotel..
This is possible right?

Yes, this is possible. You will have to book his reservation through the Hub though I believe. And you have to go show your ID within a week of him coming... someone correct me if I'm wrong?? I never actually did this.

Your right you book the discounted room through the hub and you will need his CC information and address. Then like the week of or day of his arrival you just show your ID at the hotel front desk.

Yep you can either show up at the resort or fax it in. If you don't show your ID by the day of arrival, the discount will not be honored.

I worked at a resort and my managers were great with working around family schedules. I was able to give most of my shifts away but when I wasn't, they would let me take an hour lunch break, change into normal clothes, run over to the parks and let my family in, then hurry back and change into costume. Lots of running around but it was worth it! But we were definitely not allowed to go to the parks in costume unless it was for guest service recovery... and even then we were hassled by theme park CMs. I'm guessing your son will be different as he already works in the park but his costume might cause guests to look twice..

OP here with a quick update. It turns out he requested to get our very first park day off, which is MK, and he got it! So hopefully he'll be joining us, he is working a 60 hr. work week this week:scared1:, he said the crowds are beyond unbelievable. Thanks for all your input, I can't wait to see him next week!!

anyway, if we use up all of our main gate pass things then do we get a discount on more tickets for our family/friends?

Yes, Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company may purchase additional Magic Your Way tickets at a 10% Discount off published prices.
