We're arriving in 10 more days and my son won't be able to accompany us several mornings due to work hours. Can he get his family comp park passes ahead of time to give to us? Thanks.

Unless he has been issued Cast Complimentary Tickets (which is unlikely since the last distribution was in December, and the next one isn't until June, I believe), than no.

If he is signing you in with his Main Entrance Pass, he must be present with you at the Theme Park Turnstyle.

ok thanks. So if he has to work at 8 am, and we arrive at DHS at 9, he would have to come out to the main gate in his uniform to get us tickets? Would that even be possible? He is working a 60 hr. week this week:scared1:, so asking him this stuff is kind of hard.

Hey,

Was a former CM and had this happen to me everytime my parents visited. If you are staying on-site then Early Morning Magic Hours which you get into the parks early can help.Early Morning hours gets you into the parks an hour early, everyone just needs a room key even your son. So in theory if your son doesn't have to work at that time he could come in and maingate you into the parks then you will have your park hopper ticket and he can leave to go to work. Otherwise, you would have to arrange to meet him at some point during his day to have him maingate you. If he has a cool manager they can usually arrange to go an maingate you and then return to work. Hope this helps.

Well actually I was describing our first day there, and the EMH is at MK. But, we want to see my son do his "show" first thing, so we have to go to DHS for sure. But he starts at 8, and we can't enter till 9. So there's the dilemma. I'll just have to wait and talk to him about it and see what he could do for us. If we got up early, and went to DHS with him at 8 or before, will the maingate be available for tickets even tho the park doesn't open till 9?

I'm assuming ticket windows are open, but I am doing my first CP this summer, so I'm not much help. Out of curiosity as one doing his CP this summer, what is his role?

The ticket windows will be open but the turnstiles are where you are maingated. If MK EMH is before 8am by chance then it could work aslong as your son drives very very fast back to the studios. Otherwise you could see if he has a very understanding friend or roommate that could maingate you. Then later he could fork over his comp tickets or maingate for them in the future.

well actually, we're not doing the MK EMH that day, we're doing DHS where he works. Do you know exactly when the ticket window opens for business so he could comp us?

THE GREAT MOVIE RIDE!!!!! THAT'S AWESOME!!! MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME!!!! Tell him to Break a Leg from all of us here on DisBoards!!!!

Hi, I had this happen a few times I was in Disney a year ago. Sometimes, I would have one of my friends who had the day off to go meet my parents and let them in the park. Ask him if he has any friends/roommates/coworkers who would have the day off or doesn't go into work until later in the day to meet you and let you in the park. To thank the friend my parents brought them a gift or invited them for dinner, so you can do that as a thank you for them if you want.

If he can't do that, he can talk to his manager to let him take a few minutes break to go meet you at the entrance and let you guys in and than go straight back to work. I had to do that a couple of times as well.

I hope this helps and have fun on your trip!

Thanks, but as a Mom of three teenage boys, I wouldn't think of asking someone of that age to get up early for us on their day off, but that was a nice suggestion!:) I wonder if he could come to the front after he has his uniform on, I think the answer is no, but we'll see I guess.

1st GMR -- was my first CP location.. he will have a blast though the script was way better back then:banana: ask him where his handprint is in the building mine is near Tom Hank's signature.
2nd you have to wait for the turnstiles to open to be maingated, the ticket windows have nothing to do with you getting your tickets. You go with or meet your son at the turnstile and he put his maingate in the scanner and then your given the passes.

I have a few questions about this too. First, what are these comp. tickets that you have talked about? Are they in addition to you 6 maingate days?

Also, my family was thinking about visiting as well but I was under the impression that I would have to be with them every time they wanted to switch parks. Is that not the case? If it is, how would they get fastpasses then?

All Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies are issued complimentary tickets two twice per year.

Each of these tickets are valid for One-Day, ParkHopper use at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California; the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida; Disneyland Resort Paris in Marne-la-Vallée, France; and Hong Kong Disneyland on Lantau Island in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

These tickets do not require the Cast Member to whom they were issued to be present and are valid at any time until their expiration date. So Cast Members can give these tickets away to Friends and Family for their use, or use them to enter the parks on Main Entrance Pass Blackout dates.

The number of tickets each Cast Member and Employee receives is based upon the number of dependents they have listed in Company Records. Eligible dependents include: Spouses, Same-Sex Domestic Partners and Children. Those Cast Members and Employees who have no listed dependents will receive 2 tickets.

Also, my family was thinking about visiting as well but I was under the impression that I would have to be with them every time they wanted to switch parks. Is that not the case? If it is, how would they get fastpasses then?

Upon entry, each Guest of a Florida-Site Cast Member, signed in on a Main Entrance Pass, will be issued a re-entry ticket. They will be able to go between theme parks by presenting these tickets at the entrance turnstyles, as with any other ticket. Likewise for FastPasses. The Florida-Site Cast Member will use their Walt Disney World Resort or other Florida-Site Cast ID Card to go between parks as well as obtain Disney FastPasses.

Just a heads up. Among the many rules governing the use of a Main Entrance Pass, which you will receive along with your pass, the most important is this:

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, NOR AT ANY TIME, ARE MAIN ENTRANCE PASS SIGNINS TO BE TRADED FOR CASH PAYMENT. CAST MEMBERS AND EMPLOYEES MAY NOT SELL THEIR SIGNINS FOR MONEY. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS RULE CAN AND WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION.

I have seen more than my share of Cast Members walked out because they were dumb enough to try this. Disney Security is watching at the park entrances to ensure that this doesn't happen. Likewise, if you're going into a Theme Park and a Guests comes up and offers to give you money for a Sign In, the best thing to do is to politely refuse and inform the nearest Security Host or Hostess.

If his managers wouldn't let him run up and let you in, as someone said you could go to MK where the park is open early and be there right when it opens to get your tickets, exit and go with him to work and just wait for park opening.

Your son can maingate you into the parks but while they would like the CM to escort there people around the parks alot of the time it doesn't happen. As long as those that got maingated don't do anything to get in trouble or abuse their passes then you will be fine. You are also not "signed in" that is at Disneyland at the world your just biometric scanned on to the ticket. Which is they scan your fingerprint so only you can use that ticket. That is something new that has happened in the past year or so. Hope this helps.:thumbsup2

We do almost the same thing at DLR now, without the biometric scan (apparently it's illegal or at least borderline to do so in California). No one has had to actually "Sign In" anybody in over three years, ever since they introduced the Plastic Main Gates.

We still use the same term for it, though - "biometricing" someone into the parks just doesn't have the same ring to it :p.

To address the in-costume issue...I had to work last Thurs, but my family was going to the park. I went in costume, went thru the turnstiles with them, kissed them goodbye and walked to work. No problems at all. I work at DAK, so I don't know if it's b/c we don't have costuming issues like MK or Epcot (don't know about DHS costumes...)

Also, I don't know when you are going, but there are blockout dates for the Maingate:
MK - 4/3-17
EP - 4/7-14
DHS - 4/8-9, 4/13-15
DAK - 4/6-16
