Do co-workers try to flirt and/or "come on" to your happily-married spouse at work?

I'm usually pretty upfront with people then they get the message. It's hard if you have a job where you work with the public a lot. I used to get regulars who would just stop by to chat, for hours, the Boss would stand behind me and they usually left.

It's especially hard for people who don't like to say anything negative or controversial.

I think the same goes for the married men hitting on the single women!! And the wives just don't suspect at all in the cases I've seen.

My BF & I work for the same company. There is one girl in his dept. who is obsessed with him.

But she is also mindnumbingly dull and flees like a mouse if I even approach the area where they are talking. It's kind of sad.

I don't really care. I just think it's amusing. This girl is known as the biggest dullard in the company. Conversations with her are like watching paint dry. And not even a nice color paint.

DH is in a band...that probably says it all right there, lol. He doesn't wear his wedding band anymore (long story, but for truly valid reasons) and oddly enough he was flirted with more when he DID wear it. Seems that maybe some women are MORE interested in the married men? Many of them don't even care if I'm THERE when they do it! I don't let it bother me...that does take some effort. It just comes with the territory so to speak. I knew he was a musician when I met him and chose to marry him anyway, so I live with it. I've seen too many relationships end over unfounded jealousy, it's sad. I think he handles it well, he's honest in telling them right away that he isn't interested and he doesn't encourage their behavior. He's a great guy!

You hit a sore spot with me... In DH's old job, it was 80% women! There was this one woman, that asked him to go places, took him to lunch, and even asked him to come at her house on a Friday NIGHT to fix her PC! (she said she only trusted him to fix it!)


He always had a gaggle of women that followed him around at work. There was the joke of DH and his "harem". (thier words not mine).

Now, in his new position, its all older married men... I like it that way!

The older I get, the less the more desirable women seem to want to flirt with me. I don't think my wife's got much to worry about, unfortunately.

Since my DH is the sales manager of his real estate office, and real estate is a primarily female profession, I would imagine he does get flirted with.

He's smart enough to know not to do anything stupid.

I don't get flirted with much at work because I am not the cutesy, helpless, bat-your-eyelashes type that most men seem to adore.

My dh works in a business that is notorious for cheating. I know he gets flirted with alot. It got to be a problem about 7 years ago when he was younger and thought it was harmless. He learned his lesson and makes sure everyone knows that he is very happily married and he'll get rude about it when he has to now. (Hey, he's really good looking, what can I say? )

No, dh works with mostly guys and he says the secretary is just about useless, never can find her, always has some excuse not to type up his stuff etc. At his old job , he had to hire his secretary and he told me the stuff certain people did/said to try and get the job. The one that got the job was the one who was able to type his handwriting reports that were done at 2:30 am. He has to listen to some of his co workers exploits and on his recent trip to europe with the boss and others, 2 of them kept going to the red light districts., not dh cup of tea. Right now I am more worried about ds 16. He just got a job as a lifeguard, but right now he is working the less busy week days. I guess it would be worse for him on the week ends, when everybody and his brother would be at the pool. I told him to worry about his job and that is it. He doesnt even have a girlfriend so I am not concerned.

If he's at all attractive, he's about to have more women throwing themselves at him than he knows what to do with. Lifeguard in that age bracket is roughly equivalent to bartender for 20-somethings --> it's "get hit on" central.

ok was talking to dw earlier, she reminded me of a customer that followed me through three contractors. This girl moved here to our small southern town from LA ( LA to Lower Ark) where her husband grew up. My first experience with her she called to have some work done at the house, when i got there she was conservatively dressed after i started working she goes and changes into reallly loose fitting shorts and a crop top w/o bra..stood over me and watched my every move while showing me hers.. second trip... she reqquested me by name,, i was no longer with thta contractor so she calls my new boss this time she was in the short shorts when i got there, changed to a really skimpy bikini,this went on for several years at that contractor,, she always requested me,, if i was unavailasble she would wait till i could g o, and was always nearly nude when i arived to work. At this point let me mention that in no way was i ever attracted to her. I really never saw her as anything close to my type. Sh e how ever thought i loved looking i guess. After i went out on my own and dw and i started our biz she called here. wanted some work done... when dw and i showed up, same thing ,, she was barely dressed on about the third call, dw went to handle the problem with out me,, girl wouldnt answer the door. next day i went over, dw stayed in truck,, girl answers door in lingerie,, at then turnds bright red a s she sees dw is watching from truck. she has never called us since, altho she did see us at diner a while back ans was concerned about my progress. Funniest part about whole thing,, I am friends with her hubby, dw is friensda wit her hubby,, my best friend is eright above him in scouting higherarchy, and his wife btries so hard to not let it show that she was trying to seduce me now..lol we all laugh about it when she turns away or pretends to not see us when we are out.
