Do cats watch TV?

I used to wonder that - now I know the answer. Our 10 year-old tabby has started to pay more attention to what's on TV. This AM, when I thought he was asleep, he bolts out of DH's easy chair and flies out of the room. There was a news story about cloning your pets - he must have looked at the TV just then, because when he finally crept back into the room, he kept looking at the TV. It was so funny!

he would sit on top of the tv set.....and try to catch things that were moving.......when the first manned space ship went up ......and came down he was trying to catch it......he was a good cat

Before my Nicky went to heaven, she loved to watch ABC soaps. I would have them on while I was working, and if I turned the channel she would start being verbal - even get the remote!!!

The kitties I have now watch tv as well - especially my boy Elvis. He will chase a ball on the screen, and try to touch the people (we have a HUGE widescreen HDTV). He also likes to watch the Real World/Road Rules challenges on MTV. I am not sure if it is because of the action in the competitions, or the chicks.

If we are gone overnight without them, I set the tv on timer so they have it on for a few hours. No MTV without supervision, though...

Our kitten doesn't watch too much TV- he's too busy running all over the house, but for some reason he does like to watch hockey games!

There is this commercial that says "Here Kitty Kitty, here kitty kitty!" Mine will run to the television....LOL!

Sometimes something will catch their attention and they will look, but it never holds their interest for long.

Now they say cats can't see in a mirror, WRONG! Mine loves playing peek-a-boo in the mirror.

My cat LOVES her treats. When ever I shake the can or bag of them, she gets really loud and rubs all over me. When she hears a similar noice on tv, she goes nuts, and won't stop until I give her one.

My cat lOVES football! Sometimes we leave the TV on for her if we will be out of the house on Sundats.

My cat knows when we're watching animal planet, She'll jump out at birds rabbits etc., it's really very funny.

We have a cat too that will watch Animal Planet and it's soo funny b/c she'll sit either on top of the tv or right next to it and have her little head boppin around to see what's goin on. Recently she found the computer entertaining also. She'll sit on my lap and just watch the mouse pointer.

Only one of my two cats likes to watch the tv. He gets mesmerized if we're watching the Animal Planet shows about Big Cats. He usually doesn't notice until he hears them crying or roaring. Once we were watching a show about Leopards. They were showing a female in heat. Well, my little guy got VERY interested in that. He sat right up on the couch & stared at the tv until it was over.
