Do Canadians Celebrate Halloween?

Yes:thumbsup2

We took some clients out for dinner the other night who were from Australia and they do not celebrate Halloween. Once they found out what they were missing they said someone needs to change that:lmao: My friend Nuria from Spain said most Europeans do not celebrate it either but are starting to for the kids sake.

Our Thanksgiving is also celebrated at a different time. The first Monday of October. A lot of people do not know that. It is because our seasons are shorter and we harvest sooner than the US:goodvibes

i really like the order of holidays in the us. because we have halloween, then we get ready for thanksgiving, then its almost christmas. i think if you moved thanksgiving before halloween, it would probably make the wait till christmas feel really really long. :confused3

Easy to convert the Aussies. We coverted my cousins and last year they had a big Halloween party complete with decorations and all. Everyone had a great time. It will soon catch up there as well.

Are you kidding me?? Yes we do -- but in my part of the country there is a joke that your kids' costumes have to be big enuff for a snowsuit to fit under them since it could be cold enough for snow! My hubby and daughter love the little candies and often buy them even if we aren't going to be home that night for giving them out -- we carve at least one pumpkin (very elaborately i might add) sometimes 2 we have a mat that makes noises when the kids step on one it and little pumpkin lights that we string up. So YES we celebrate Halloween

hahah, i'm sorry! you could always buy an extra turkey and freeze it and have a big turkey dinner in november too!;)

I work for a French company and its time for one of the interns to go home (Paris). He's staying in town for an extra 2 weeks because he refuses to leave before Halloween. So I guess its not that big of a deal over there either. :rotfl2:

I have always felt Thanksgiving is too close to Christmas, especially for people who have to travel. Now that the airlines are dinging people with extra ridiculous surcharges, many people have to choose which holiday to go visit loved one. (This is of course for people who want to visit loved ones and not use it as an excuse to get out of bad holiday "celebrations." :headache: )
