Do birthday children wear their pins only on their birthday or throughout your stay?

We hpoe to be in WDW at the time my daughter turns 6 and since this will be her first trip to WDW I figure why not make it extra special for the entire visit?

My daughter will be celebrating her 5th birthday at WDW in October. Where do I get the birthday pin? Any suggestions on making the shirt? Also are we allowed to bring a small cake to any of the character meals so that we can have our own little birthday party? :yay:

You get the buttons at Guest Realtions at each of the theme parks. If youare thinking about a T-Shirt check out the CreatDISigns board here on the dis.

I've gotta tell you... we asked my DD to take it off after the third day. We were all pretty tired of the half hearted Happy Birthday's she was getting. She got a cupcake at Chef Mickey's (I told them when I made the ADR it was her B'day). She didn't get any other "special" stuff (not that we expected any  ) I also have twins and she is only 14 months older than them- so we got lots of "are they triplets?" attention as well. I guess I was kinda sick of making small talk with strangers at that point! Maybe I just needed some better coffee! :surfweb:

I've called 3 times to make various ADR's for our upcoming trip, which we are taking over my DD's birthday. After finding out that it's our first trip and why we're going, each CM I've dealt with went ahead and noted the birthday in all the ADR's we made, and when I pointed out that her actual b-day is the Thursday, they've all said that the whole trip can be her birthday.

So, that leaves me with the impression that they expect and encourage people (probably kids in particular) to really celebrate during the whole stay.

With the pin, well... If it says "Today is my birthday" then I probably won't have my DD wear it everyday. It will be more special to her if she's singled out on her real birthday. But if she gets special treatment in the restaurants we've reserved over the course of the week, I think that's fine. It is her special week and I'm glad Disney wants to celebrate with her! :)

Feel free to celebrate it for how ever long you wish! Geez, look how long we celebrated Mickey's Birthday!!!
