Do any of you still have your D-tag on your shoe?

These D-tags are a lot more user friendly than the chips they used to use. Do any of you still have yours from marathon weekend on your shoe??

The tag is still on the pair I ran for the half. I cut the full tag off my other pair because I ran in them for the Houston marathon on Sunday and wasn't sure if running with two tags was such a great idea. They sure are easier to use than the Champion Chips, especially for the volunteers who don't have to cut them off your shoes anymore, but I do feel bad for the people that had spent the money to buy their own chip.

I finally took them off this last weekend. I also still had my Goofy wristband on until this weekend, too. I guess I was still trying to hang onto the Disney feeling just a bit longer. I have been known to leave those D tags on for weeks at a time.

I do on my marathon shoes. The half shoes the D-Tag joined my D-Tag chain. I am trying to see how many D-tags I can collect in one year. Currently have 4 on the 2010 chain.

Cool idea, Charles. You'll have to keep us posted.

That's a great idea, although by the time December rolls around, I'd probably cry when looking back at how much money I'd spent on tags.

That is SUCH a cool idea!! I think I'll have to do that when I feel like it's time to take the D-tag off my Disney shoes! :)

Mine is still on my chair, it will stay there until the 30th when I take it off to put on the Miami one.

Mine is still on. Haven't run since the Half yet so haven't taken it off.

That's a fun idea Charles!

I took mine off the day after the race. I wanted to use it on a scrapbook page so I didn't want it to get lost.

Guilty! I retired these shoes from running after the full, so they are on vacation. Once I start wearing them casually, I will probably cut it off.

Monday on the Drink Around the World, I notice my half was still on. Took it off, and put it in my wallet.

Today, on my second post run, I see my full still on. Took it off, and put it in my wallet.

I keep them with my bibs, and use a Sharpie to write my finish times on them.

LOL - I told my husband it's the new ski tag! Everyone walks around with their lift tickets still attached to their ski jackets long after the ski trip is over. I saw many D tags walking around the parks Monday and Tuesday. I took mine off. DH did not, but he hasn't worn his shoes again yet either.

Took mine off my half shoes the other day since I ran in them. Never thought of keeping it. Still on the full pair as I haven't used them yet.

enjoy,
Duane

I take them off right away...but hang them off the shelving in my garage where I had been sticking old bike numbers and helmet stickers. It is very colorful out there now....they remind me of Tibetan prayer flags...

For some reason I took it off my full shoes (and now don't know where I put it) and I noticed the one from the half is still on those shoes. I found another d-tag in my closet from a local race. I like the d-tags.

Mine are both still on (different pair of shoes for each race). DH keeps his on until the next race then changes them the night before.

I like the idea of a chain too.

Changing the subject slightly, does it bother anyone that instead of reusable chips, most big races have moved to the D Chip? I understand the benefit to those who put on the events, but it is a shame to see more garbage being generated. The D Chip itself does not seem like something that will breakdown anytime soon once it arrives in the landfill.

I'm sure the D Tags aren't very green. By next year (allegedly) the tag will be embedded in the bib so there will be one less piece of plastic to throw away.
