Do any of you do the goat trick when your riding the BTMR? I learned about it before our last trip and tried it, and it really does feel like the train is really pulling you faster.

I don't always do it, but it's fun to do when riding in the back of the train. :goodvibes

Ive done it several times with both dd, they swear by it but it doesnt really do anything for me. ;)

I can't do it, I have such a problem with motion sickness, I am just happy to be able to go on BTMRR without throwing up. DH does it a lot thou.

I have heard this being referenced before, but no one has ever explained what it is. Can someone please enlighten the unenlightened?

There is a special trick among Disneyland regulars that you can do on Big Thunder. It's the "Goat Trick." While you speed around in this train, you will see a goat chewing dynamite on your right. The trick is this, keep your eyes on the goat as long as you can. The train spins around, causing you to turn your head, and twist your body as you keep your eyes on the goat. This gives you a strange sensation, a mix between dizziness and spinning upside-down. Not for the faint of stomach!

I dont feel dizzy, because Im turning my head and looking at the goat, I got more of a pulling whoosh feeling going around the corner, like I was going faster

Thank you so much! :worship: I have to try this next time I go!

No offense to those that like to do that, but...... good gravy that just sounds God awful to do, for me anyway.:scared1: I believe that I would end up feeling dizzy!
At least I now know though what this "trick" entails.

You say that like it's a bad thing. :confused3 ;)

The goat trick rocks! But I have found it really only works if you are in the last 2 cars. :thumbsup2

I get both. My brain ends up feeling like I was on Screamin' a couple times. (not planning on doing the goat trick in the future)

As usual, I agree with DM.

Last time DBF and I did it, the back of his head went straight into my mouth. I was painful but I did feel the "pull". We were in the second to last car.

It doesn't matter how many times I ride BTMRR, everytime I see the goat, I have to yell, "That goat's got dynamite." My apologies to those around me.

I love the goat trick, but for me it only happens when I'm in the middle of the train. I'm sure I could do it in the back but I feel like I'm going so much faster back there that I'd rather not. :) It pulls me, gives me the upside down tummy feeling and not in a bad way, but I think it might be bad if I did it in the back. LOL

You know.... I do that too.

Do you think it is an Arizonan thing?

I think DH yelled that the last time we went on it! I thought it was strange since it's not like he's never been on the ride before. I guess he's not the only strange one! ;) He's not from Arizona though.

I tried the goat trick once and it just gave me a headache from moving my head around like that. My "trick" is to try to sit in the back of the train. The front goes SO slow down the hills.
