I'm kind of jumping the gun here, but hey, what the heck.

DH had an interview in SW Florida last week. It went really well. So, just in case he's offered the job, and we decide to make the huge move, how often do you camp at Fort Wilderness? We have an '03 Outback RS-S that we'd be bringing down with us. We've already decided that if we do move to FL, we are going to have to get annual passes. Are there reduced rates at Ft. W for Florida residents?

TIA!

We live in the tampa bay area, we usually ge the florida resident seasonal passes, it has black out dates usually in the summer months, which is fine because the weather is usually to hot to enjoy the parks for us, we sometimes get the water park annual pass and we use that in the summer months. We go as often as we can, living in Florida you can enjoy year round camping. We have been here about 12 years and we love it.

We live in Panama City Florida, it's up in the panhandle. Every time I've tried to get a "florida" resident discount, they always tell me there isn't any available at that time. :(

We live in southeast florida (palm beach county)
we get the seasonal annual passes...much better deal with limited black out dates...

we go to ft. wilderness only when they have fl resident rates, usually 5 or 6 times a year...we look for about 40-48 bucks per night for a preferred site....

or travel time is about 2.5 hours for door to site....

We live in SW Fl. Drive time from driveway to Outpost is 2hrs. 45 mins. Stay at FW once a month. Don't bother with preferred loops. Have seasonal passes. Just enjoy getting away and relaxing. Sometimes we get the Fl. Res. discount but even without it being at FW is GREAT. We have never rented a golf cart and most likely never will since we bring our bikes and also enjoy walking.

WE live in Jacksonville, about 2.5 or 3 hr trip. We have camped 4 times in the past year... with the seasonal pass, if you go on mousesavers.com they are good about letting you know when the Fl. Res. discount begin..several times a year. but as soon as you hear about the discount you need to call they go really fast.

We would definitely get annual passes if we moved down there. The thought of year-round camping is really exciting.

We have lived in Orlando and now just outside Orlando for over 25 years, well me, my husband has lived here for 50 years. But I grew up in CA 1 hour from Disneyland. We used to do Disney 3 times a year when our boys were little, but now we only camp at Ft. Wilderness once or twice a year. We get super discounts from my husbands job, but can only go on the off seasons...which is fine with us.

We go just for camping, never go to the parks anymore, the boys just never want to, they are teens and like rollar coasters...they are totally over Mickey.

Florida has many wonderful places to camp besides FW and the best part is you can camp all year round  !

Just wanted to say how "green-eyed" I am that you get to stay in the warm weather all winter. We were just talking about how we have let our winterizing go too long on our camper and hopefully the pipes won't freeze tonight. We are always hopeful for 1 last trip! Enjoy the good weather.:D
