Hello friends, long time no chat :rotfl:. Just wondering if any of you guys are scrapbookers? A friend just sent me this awesome disney scrapping forum/website with tons of layouts in case anyone is interested in scrapbooking their holiday photos:-

www.mousescrappers.com

If any of you do scrapbook your Disney photos, I would love to see photos of the layouts on here.

Thanks for that link. I used to scrapbook a while ago but found it too time consuming and expensive! And too difficult with little children.

I'm looking into digital scrapbooking. One of the pros is that I can share my pages with my overseas relatives. When (ok...if I get to) I've done some pages. I will post.

Shushh, alot of what I'm seeing on that forum appears to be digital so it could be right up your alley.

I totally agree that scrapbooking can be a time suck. I was a mad scrapbooker for many years, even did a few things for a local shop here etc. Like everything in my life, I became obsessed. Once my photography business took off I had to pack the scrapbooking away because it was taking my attention away from the business.

Unfortunately though, photography has now become work to me, even though I love love love it still. I find I need a creative outlet that isn't tied to a clients needs and deadlines so I am hoping to just gently dip my toe back into it. A friend of mine who originally introduced me to scrapbooking is going to catch up with me 1 day a month to scrapbook. I'm very nervous to start again, nervous to see if I can split my time appropriately and my mental energy the same way. You see when I do something, I like to do it all out and find I can only really focus on one major thing at a time haha. Tomorrow is our first day to begin and in my head I've already designed 8 full on layouts :rotfl2: and my last thought at night is scrapbooking pages and my first thought in the morning so I can already see the craziness beginning :lmao:.

Fingers crossed I can do both because I have really enjoyed letting my mind wander and be creatively free again. I did look into digital scrapbooking but realised it didn't hold quite the appeal for me because I love the feel of the papers and the ribbons and the moving things around and just the whole process of the craft. Although I can definitely see it would be quickly to do it digitally.

The other reason I want to go back to it is that my children are now 12 and nearly 9 and they really enjoy getting out their old albums and reading everything I wrote (the journalling was always my fave part). My husband actually told me he is so glad that I am going to start scrapbooking again. He said he sees how special it is for the kids to have and he looks forward to seeing more of what i create for them. You all know my husband is no gusher so that was sure saying something. :rotfl2:.

I've been lurking on the mousescrappers site for the last 4 months. I'm resisting the urge to scrap...:headache:

But the photography section there is also worth hanging out in. Lately, CarolC has convinced one of her professional photo buddies to blog some posts on how to take better pictures. I'm thinking of signing up on the site just for his posts alone!

*sigh* I think I'm fighting a losing battle against scrapping.

Hahaha, it is addictive isn't it. Maybe you could do something like I am planning to do, just set aside one day per month to actually scrapbook. And then in the lead up to that day, when you can grab a spare 5 mins, print off the photos you want to use, get out the relevant papers/embellishments, find a moment to journal, etc. Then come the day, it's just a matter of putting it all together.

Not another hobby.... noooooooo! But I'll have a look. I'm more into digital than paperbased. Thanks for the link.

PS - Welcome back Ms Shuttergirl! Long time..

 I cheated and made photobooks at Kmart for the kids for Christmas it was less time consuming and they loved them you can still write all the things on the pages and place your photos where you want.

I scanned in all the tickets for everywhere we went and all the DL buttons that they got plus their airline tickets as well as the DL photopass photos.

My only problem with it is my ds and dd chose linen cover albums and because they take them everywhere with them the covers are a bit grubby but i guess i could just buy new covers if they get to bad.

I'm only visiting Kylie, I'm not back for good. With no trip on my future it's just too sad for me haha. But I will definitely pop in from time to time.

WAMumof4, I think the photo books are an excellent way of capturing all of your memories.

When I was away in the US in September, I was doing live updates on the Dis every day (how dedicated am I haha) and when I came home, I inserted photos into the story for my peeps here. Then I copied everything into a word document, got rid of the abbrieviations and put the families names back into all of the writing, then I printed everything out and put it in a display folder and it's just like I wrote a travel journal. I really love it and am so happy that I updated my Disers with such useless random stuff when I was in the moment because now it is a true keepsake.

That is awesome :cheer2: I should do that with my trip advisor and facebook stuff from last year never would of thought of it what an awesome keepsake our kids tried to keep journals but we were so busy it just didn't always happen, we thought we would finish them when we came home but 5 months later we still havent finished them.:cheer2:

Unfortunately i hadn't discovered this board then.
Thanks for the idea.

I've been scrapbooking for a number of years. I have a few layouts on Mouse Scrappers (same username as here) but I also have a Disney Scrapbooking Blog. I've been really neglectful of it lately, (actually haven't done a post since last July.) I'm going to get back to my Disney scrapbooking as I have only completed two out of seven trips and these were pre-digital so not near as many photos as the last five. I've also signed onto the scrapbooking challenge here on dis but as yet have produced nothing. I'm on a Design Team for an Aussie scrapbooking wholesaler so that takes my time away from my Disney stuff. Seeing that I have no planned Disney holiday in the near future I will have to get my Disney fix from my scrapbooking. Anyway if interested in looking at my blog -not much there at the moment but soon very soon... The address is http://scrapbookingbytracey.blogspot.com/
All my stuff is traditional paper scrapbooking but I've just started designing some digital papers and embellishments so I may do a few digital layouts in the future.

I used to scrapbook many years ago, very addictive! That is a very impressive site, I could spend hours on there...like I do here :rotfl:

The blog looks great at a quick glance. I will have a more detailed look over the weekend. Thanks so much for sharing it.

Hehehe, you know what I mean.

The Dis is awesome isn't it. I think the photo book idea or just printing stuff off for a display book may be the quicker simplest option. As I said, I am really pleased with mine.

I've been busy trying to organise myself to complete my photo book as the deadline for 30% off ends at midnight. 15 minutes to spare...woohoo!!! Anyway, I made this scrapbook page for the first page. Seeing as I had to teach myself how to use CS5 in a hurry, I'm rather happy with the results! Thought I'd share as...

That looks great!!!

Question for those of you who use digital scrapbooking...can you recommend a good site to use? I tried MixBooks but the importing facebook photos feature doesn't work for me which I would have loved to use.

Okay, I have finally done my first Disney scrapbooking page. After 5 years of putting scrapping on the backburner so that I could focus on my business, I am so happy to be back doing the odd page or two when time allows. It's nice to be creative for fun, instead of for money for a change :rotfl2:

That's Beautiful Ms Shuttergirl!
I don't have the patience or money...(I'm very dangerous in Stationery stores :lmao:) but I do love the results.

This is the blog of a friend of mine who is a Scrapper and Disney nut. Not all her stuff is Disney but a lot of it is...
