Do all pts for ressie have to be home?

to take advantage of the 7-11 mth window? For example say I have 100pts @ SSR and 100pts @ BCV but the reservation I want for BCV requires 200pts and is 11mths away? I'm trying to figure out if it is best to have a variety of home resorts or if that hinder my ability to make a complete reservation.

Also, if points you need for a reservation will arrive before the trip but after the 11mths can you still make the reservation 11mths away?

You can only use the points for the resort they belong to. In other words, in your scenario, you could only reserve a BCV reservation for 100 points at the 11 month window. Meaning that you can only use BCV points to make a reservation at the 11 month window.

In terms of the other question, yes, you can make the reservation at 11 months even if the new UY hasn't begun at the time of the reservation. For example, I have a June UY. I made my reservation for our upcoming July trip in August of '07 at the 11 month window using some banked points and some 2008 points.

Thank heavens that we can borrow! We use the 11 month window, but do borrow and alternate resorts in different years.

Yes, they all must be home points.
That said, you can bank & borrow each home resort independently, so you can use three years of BCV points at a clip without messing with the SSR points.

you can't book BCV at 11 months with SSR pts. it would be unfair to BCV owners. if you own both resorts, you can combine pts at 7 months but not at 11.

"arrive" isn't really the best way to understand it...pts are just usable for a certain 12 month period. if you have home resort pts available in the use year that you are trying to book (or access to home resort pts that were banked or can be borrowed), then you can book at 11 months. it doesn't matter if you are currently in a different use year or not.

Correct. Many people do just that. At the same time they will bank their SSR points for the following year, then they have double SSR points... even triple if they opt to borrow.

can you transfer points from one contract to the other? we currently own at ssr and are thinking of adding on at akv but a much smaller amount. would I be able to transfer my ssr points to the akv account to book a full stay at the 11 month window?

No, transferred points retain their original home. So they would still be SSR points.

But key to remember, if you borrow those points, they cannot be unborrowed if you change your mind on the original reservation.
