I read that not all BC rooms have balconies/patios. Is this true for BCV as well? Kids an I stayed at SSR in AUG (our first DVC stay),and loved it. We then spent 2 nights at BWV and it just wasn't for us (and for months I was expecting it to be the other way around :sad2: ) This will be DH first trip as DVC and I really want him to be impressed (he's only ever stayed at the mods) Right now we have 2 nights at BCV in a studio (all that's available) then the rest of the week in a 1 bedroom at OKW (never stayed there myself) we're bringing our 2 youngest kids aged 9 and 11. Do you think this is a good plan or would you try something else???

I'm not aware of any BCV rooms without a balcony (other than ground floor). I don't think you need to worry about that.

And moving from a BCV studio to an OKW 1BR will be light night and day. Actually true for any move from a studio to 1BR, but at OKW you will have even more of a dramatic move up in accommodation space and amenities.

Definitely do the studio first then the 1BR...not the other way around! :)

This is an excellent plan. Hope you get at least one day to use the pool at BCV as your kids will love it if they like swimming and slides. The one BR at OkW should really do it for impressing your DH.

It sounds like you should have a magical trip.

DH & I just returned from our 1st visit to BCV (our home resort). We had a 1BR and walked around ALOT!! There were several rooms with only had a tiny balcony - basically large enough for the door to open & two adults to stand just outside the room. These were 2, 3, 4th floor rooms. Our room, on the other hand, faced the quiet pool and had a fabulous balcony - must've been one of the biggest around because we were at a "bend" in the building. Very big balcony outside the BR & the living room which connected - 4 chairs, two small side tables. It was great for reading and enjoying the peace & quiet.

We were in room 266 and it was fabulous!!!

We also just returned from BCV for the F&W fest! Loved it! 5th floor HA studio #528 had a huge balcony! We going back for in January to a 1BR & was wondering about the other balconies. It looked to us that the larger balconies were on the 2nd & 5th floors. Anyone know for sure? We have emailed DVC but they have not responded.

We were in a studio on the 3rd floor one time that had the large balcony (pie wedge shape).

I've been in 2 different studios on the 4th floor, and had a balcony both times. One, in #461 was huge. Both the rooms I had on the 3rd floor also had balconies. To the best of my knowledge, although BC rooms may not have "sittable" balconies, I think all the ones at BCV do-of differing sizes, but even the smallest ones are "sittable". I just came back from #422, which had a relatively tiny balcony, only at most 2 people could sit out there.

we were in rm 228 in June 05 and the balcony was the largest of what I could see. It didn't seem the other 'corner' balconies were as open. I.e. They all had some type of pie-shaped dividers in them. I suspect the balconies were bigger because each were HA rooms.

you might want to check out www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-bcv/ There are floor plans of BCV and some pics of the views.
