Do airfare rates fluctuate if you purchase air through DVC?

We need to purchase air and transfers for our Wonder cruise in July 2003. We are meeting someone flying in from TX who purchased air and transfers through DCL as part of their cash package. We will meet them in the terminal and take the cruise line bus together.

I know we would get a better deal buying air ourselves, but we are worried that our flight might be delayed because of some airport security problem. If you buy air through Disney, they guarantee to get you to the boat. We CANNOT fly down the day before.

So, if we buy air through DVC, do their fare rates fluctuate?

Should we book now or wait until next year and hope for lower fares?

Do they book in bulk like DCL who just charges a blanket rate?

Can you choose which airline to take or do they assign you like DCL?
