Please share your experiences with travel on DME to CR. We land at MCO at 9:55 pm. Trying to judge what MDE will be like at that time of night and what time we *may* expect to arrive at CR. Thank you!

We once used DME to go to CR after a late-arriving flight and we thought it was a mistake. They dropped off at 4 resorts for the trip, Fort Wilderness, WL, GF, and then CR. So it took quite a while to get there. Our plane arrived around 9:45 and it took us until almost midnight to get to the resort. We wished we'd used an Uber. This was in August of 2019, so things may have changed with COVID, but I know the DME still drops off at several resorts. We stayed at AoA a couple of weeks ago and used DME after arriving at about 8 pm. That bus also had drop-offs at 4 resorts but AoA was thankfully first.

We stayed at the Contemporary pre-covid and used Magical Express. Arrived in the middle of the day and thought it worked fine. We stopped at the Wilderness Lodge both coming and going but wasn't that long of a delay. Can't speak to how it works late at night or what else might be different during covid. I would assume the frequency of trips is determined by expected demand which is why they ask your flight information when making a reservation.

We took DME to CSR in November with a nighttime arrival (I forget how late, but not 10 p.m.) so I can't speak to CR, but I can say they are definitely still consolidating resorts and we were the 3rd of 4 resorts to be dropped off, so it took a little while. The good thing is no line at DME at that hour though, we got right on a bus and left a few minutes later. CR was not on that loop.

Thank you for the replies. My worry is that at that time of night there won’t be many people, therefore lots of different resorts for one bus. What to do, what to do??
Is the rideshare pick up in the same general area, where we could quickly assess the situation and then quickly decide which transportation to take?

The Rideshare is on Level 2. It's not difficult to find and is clearly marked.

That late at night it isn't like you will be going to the parks since they would already be closed. Magical Express is free while any of the online taxi services will charge for that service.

True but coming from a far distance so hoping to find a food option still open upon arrival.:)

Not sure if you're thinking about food at MCO or CR, but both are going to be slim to non-existent at that time of night. Definitely plan ahead for another option there.

Right. That is my fear. Looks like we would have to arrive to CR before 11 to order food from the Wave Lounge. Needing to call to confirm the availability. We arent checking luggage but even with Uber it is tight.

This all depends on the day and who's coming in at what times.

We came in Friday night headed to BLT. We got off our plane at about 8:55 PM and got on a bus about 9:05 (we didn't have any checked baggage). We only had three stops on our bus (WL, BLT, CR) so it was rather quick and we were at BLT by 9:45.

We also had the same food concerns, but we were luckily able to eat a full meal before we got on the plane in Dallas and just eat a few snacks when we got there. With The Wave restaurant closing at 9, I assume they'll operate similar to how Tambu does over at Poly where they quit serving food after the restaurant they're sharing a kitchen with closes, but don't hold me to that. Additionally, aside from a few bars or convenience stores in MCO that stay open late, pretty much every restaurant at MCO is closing between 8-9 PM right now and it was a complete ghost town when we arrived on Friday night.

My best recommendation (which was our main backup plan) would be to look at ordering pizza once you get on the bus and know roughly how many stops it'll be taking before CR.

Last February my family came in on a 8:30 flight. DME bus was not a problem but our luggage didn't get to our room until after midnight. If I had a late arrival, I would claim my bags and not let them go through DME.

Or just tell Bell Services to hold your bags until you call for them in the morning.
