..remind me again how this works, please:lovestruc..

If we fly into MCO and arrive the day before our WDW reservation starts, can we stay at the Hyatt and then take DME the next morning to our resort? How do we set that up? Is this the instance when we would give DME "false" flight info for a flight arriving around the time we would like to depart to WDW?

No problem just showing up at the DME counter the morning after your arrival. Did this our last trip, and didn't need to give a "false" flight. Not much going on at DME early morning...7 to 8 or so...we got on a bus with a couple of other people, dropped off at POFQ and made it to park for rope drop.

But you must have an advance reservation for the day of riding DME which must be on or after check in day. Making the reservation will go quicker and smoother if you have a flight (any flight, any airline, arriving at the time you want to take DME) at the back of your mind. They may or may not ask for it.

They don't ask for the flight when you get to the welcoming counter, except (for those folks just getting of a plane) if you need to have DME deliver to your resort your checked baggage for which the yellow tags did not arrive at your home in time in which case the counter CM's need the airline claim checks.

Not an issue at all. But, as previously mentioned, you do need to make a reservation prior to your arrival. Talk to whomever you booked your WDW stay with. Give them flight info for a flight that is arriving early that morning...that way they can plan the proper number of buses. Give them your return flight info as well....then they can give you the correct return pickup time later in your stay.
That morning, just take yourselves and your bags down to DME. Some have said that the Hyatt will get your bags to DME for you, but I would just take care of them myself at this point.

You shouldn't have any problems with a WDW reservation in the system and DME already added to it. They look up your WDW ressie and not your flight info - the 'false' flight information would be helpful for the amount of seats they need to set aside on the buses for the time you want to head to WDW. We are doing this in October - I am flying in on a Friday, renting a car and driving to another destination for the weekend - we have a WDW ressie for Monday when our kids will be joining us, so we plan to return the car to the airport Monday, meet our kids off of their flight and then take DME to WDW for the rest of our vacation. I let Member Services know the flight time and that all of us on the ressie would be taking DME - they don't need to know that 2 of us have been there for 3 days before our reservation.
No worries - enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the info!

We're weighing all of our options for our trip in June 2012. There is the possibility that half of our group might fly in on Friday night (our reservation starts on Saturday) if the airfare and flight times are better. Since we aren't going to rent a car (WAY to much $$$$ for 6-7 people!), our options are limited to Hyatt or a value resort at WDW. The Hyatt, amazingly, is CHEAPER than Pop Century:scared1:.
