DME Question

Is it possible to use DME only for luggage? We are renting a car and I will need an SUV or minivan if I have to pack the luggage too...there will be four of us. I would rather rent something smaller for the October trip as the rental rates this year seem very high. We'll have our carry-ons with us so I don't mind if the luggage takes a bit longer to arrive at the room, and early drop-off on the return (we're flying Delta/Song ) won't be a problem either. Has anyone tried this?

No, you can't use the arrival leg of DME for luggage only. Very easy question to answer, sorry it's not the answer you want.

Since you're flying Delta/Song, a "participating airline," you CAN use Resort Airline Check-In when you leave WDW -- that allows luggage-only transfers from your resort to MCO, and DIsney doesn't care if you take the DME bus back or not.

What you can do is rent the car have 2 go in the rental and 2 go on DME using their DME tags This will get you the smaller car and all bags on DME.

Remember though, the only luggage that will be transported by DME is that of Guests who check in for and ride the DME bus, based on the bar codes on your luggage tags.
