Luggage from the DME routes.
Do you carry your luggage with you to the DME bus ?

Do you let DME take your luggage for you and then it shows up in yoru room, how many hours later ?

I have read DME luggage complaints on this board - but lets go with some positive comments please.

Select your average time it took for your luggage to get to your WDW resort room.

Thanks !

I said 3/4 hrs. BUT....usually, I'm in a park and don't really know exactly how long it took. The times I have been at the resort, the bags have been put in my room about 2 hrs after my checkin. One time it took them 6 hrs...but that was at POP and I have a feeling it was a POP issue, not a DME issue. I left a very unhappy note at the front desk about that issue.

But, usually, it is 3/4 hrs. That's what the vast majority of people have told me they have had.

We were in the park when it was delivered, so I have no idea.

I didn't vote as we are never in the room when our bags are delivered. We always arrive, check in and head out to a park. When we return our bags are in the room :) IMHO the luggage delivery feature of DME is great.

Missing my option..

When I do check luggage, DME delivers the luggage. I have never hung around the room waiting on it so not a clue when it arrives. Nor do I really care as long as it's there when I get back that evening!

I need a a seventh choice.

~~~ I don't know because I am never in my room waiting when it arrives!!!
It was Christmas Day and while it didn't take the full 3 hrs, it was closer to 3 than 2. I was impressed with that.
Last trip our luggage was delivered to our room within about 20 minutes of us getting into the room. We had about a 10 minute delay at the front desk due to a small check in issue. From there we went to our room to relax and get ready to go to dinner. The bags came before we left. So it was under 2 hours from the time our plane landed.
I voted 3-4 hours, but I can't say for sure because we were never in our rooms when it arrived. We were out having fun!
A few observations:
  • While the OP admits to hearing a few complaints, that doesn't take onto account the millions of satisfied DME customers who have had good-to-excellent service and just don't talk about it because, well, that's what they expected.
  • The poll is missing a couple of options
    • The (now-)obvious "I don't know because I dont have to wait in my room, my luggage just automagically appears";
    • and "Other - because there always has to be an 'other'" ;). In fact, is there a way for the Tech people to program the polls that way?
  • The guest saves time by letting Magic Express handle their checked luggage.
  • The guest saves money by using Magic Express instead of a town car - even if you want food, it's less expensive to use DME and a grocery delivery service.
  • When you let DME handle your luggage behind the scenes, Dosmey takes care of the tip. Bringing your luggage with you means you tip anyone who handles it, plus you'll have to be in your room to get it delivered.
Same here, we are usually off and running once we get to the resort, so I am only guessing it is the standard 3/4 hours for our luggage to get to our room, but unfortunately I am not 100% sure on that. I know that whenever we head back to the resort for dinner and a rest (after spending a good 3-5 hours in the park), the luggage is already in the room.
Does it matter what type of resort you are staying at ?
:confused3DME still delivers to the room all your checked luggage if you are at a valie or moderate ?:confused3
I would assume always delivered to your room at a deluxe - you pay for it with your room price:rotfl: (no offence for deluxe people - we are one of them, now trying a moderate - money issues)
I don't really know how long it takes, because every time I've used it, I have not been in the room when it was delivered (which, in my opinion, is the great advantage of using it - you can go to the park, or out to eat, and they'll deliver your luggage, no need to wait for it).
DH grabbed our luggage, only because we landed at night and we didn't want to be awakened.
We always take a NY AM flight - so we should be at MCO by 11 AM. Then with DME, arrive at POFQ by 12:30 PM.
We have our Park Hopper tickets already - so we will most likely just check in to our resort, check the room if we are assigned one, then get a bite to eat at the POFQ food court, a quick bathroom stop and then off to EPCOT or MK or what ever bus comes first - hey we are not picky on which park on day 1.
I know resorts can text you (or call you) when your room is ready. Do they ever text (or call you) when your luggage arrives at the resort ?
:confused3I wonder if we can request a luggage arrival text - maybe from the bell service ? :confused3
Each time it has been about 3 - 4 hours after check in. Perfect :O)
I don't think Bell Services has the time or set-up to do that - and does it truly matter when your luggage gets to your room, especially when you're not there?
