First off sorry if this has been asked before just did not see it :woohoo: I was wondering how DME works for us Canadians. I will be flying out of Saskatoon to Calgary then on to Disney in July when do I stick the DME tags on my bag? Before I leave Saskatoon? Do I have to claim my bags or will disney do all that for me? Thankyou for reading.

Put them on when you check your bags the first time (before going through customs) and then you will not have to worry about remembering.

Customs folks just ignore them and know what they are for.

You only need to put them on the bags you are checking. This way Disney knows they are your bags and will get them from MCO to your hotel room. They should not even appear on the luggage carousels in MCO.

I think WDW says allow 4 hors for the bags to arrive. Sometimes it is quicker, once it was a bit longer. Lots of folks suggest packing a swimsuit in carry-on luggage if you want to swim when you first get tot the hotel.

Have a great time!

As long as your flight arrives at MCO by 10pm then you don't need to collect them.

I also suggest mixing up the luggage a bit, as sometimes one can get left behind. Last year my niece's bag was sent who knows where. We arrived at MCO (red-eye) at 7:16 am. My bag arrived later that morning, hers did not and they couldn't locate it. After talking with the airline, they said they were putting a rush on it as all of the dresses I made her were inside. I was lucky, at the last minute I grabbed the dress I needed for our first park day and put it in my luggage so I wasn't in a huge panic at that point. Sometime in the night they got the bag to our room.

As mentioned, put your tags on before you leave for the airport. Disney does the rest.

Coming home, you will be able to do your flight check in at your resort, but not luggage check in. They are only equipted to do domestic luggage check. So, when taking DME back to MCO, you will have your luggage put on the DME bus, and claim it off the bus when you arrive at MCO, and check your own luggage in at the airport. Like you'd normally do with any other trip.

Thank you for your advice i was not sure on how DME works.

Cheers
