Hello !

Firstly a HUGE THANKYOU for all the help and advice from this forum for helping us plan our holiday to DLRP.

I am going to do this review in stages and try to cover everything !!!!!!!!!!

4 In Party - Me age 34 - It has always been my dream to meet Mickey Mouse!
Hubby aged 29 - Was looking forward to It - But Didn't Know what to expect.
DD1 - aged 9 - Disney Fan and DD2 - aged 5 - Disney Fan.

DAY 1
We took Easyjet Flights from Newcastle to CDG, flight delayed 70 mins - boo !!!! We had an afternoon flight and set off at 4.10pm. Paid £321 for return flights for 4.

Flight was fine, no problems, new plane and very comfortable !

Arrived CDG to be met by RS Transport (recommended on this board), it was 110 euro return for us. Even though our flight was over an hour late, as we stepped out of arrivals, the man was there with his board with my name ! We paid him 60 euro.

On the way back he was there on time and we paid the remaining 50 euro !

Took about 50 minutes to arrive at Hotel Cheyenne.

Have to say that we arrived well before the Shuttle bus so no queue for check in for us !

We totally LOVED the Cheyenne (paid £480 for 4 nights), lovely quick check in by a super lady and we were given all our info and also our premium vouchers (paid £392 for 4 nights). We chose 7am breakfast time !

The hotel was quiet when we were there (or seemed so) !!!

Our room was 1560 in Doc Holliday and was lovely, very clean, loved the decor and the theme was fantastic ! The beds were a dream to sleep on, room was warm, and the fan is a welcome addition as the nights were quite high temps. (Ranged from 24 - 28 when we were there). The cleaning service was great, always clean towels and cleaned properly ! Exactly what we needed as a base (bearing in mind we only spent time there when asleep) !! I would so recommend this hotel and would go back definately !

The shop in the hotel was lovely, staff helpful, good selection of toys and gifts as well as milk, water, beer, ice lollies etc.

In the Cheyenne, the Red Garter Saloon was lovely and we had a few cocktails over the 5 days, as well as a few beers/cider - usually around 6 Euros (beer) to 8 Euro for a cocktail, they also did lovely children's non alcoholic cocktails and milkshakes (which were divine). They also offered sandwiches for 5 Euro.

Will also say that each morning 2 charachters visited hotel and there was a nice organised queue to meet and have autographs/Pics - we were usually first in queue, we saw Minnie, Chip and Dale, Goofy, Pluto.

INVENTIONS
We went to inventions the first night and we were impressed with the lovely array of dishes, I remember having sea bream, swordfish, lamb, chicken, prawns, potato gratin, mash, beef medallions in peppercorn sauce, cold meats and pasta salads and lots and lots of seafood ! I could go on, there was also some nice breaded chicken and potato shapes for children who are a little picky, but mine were happy to have the other things on offer - including the lovely spinach and ricotta canneloni !!! For dessert there was an array of sweets, including lollipops, cakes, yogurts etc, so a really good selection to choose from !

Our table was for 9.30pm as we had to change due to the flight delay, this wasn't a problem and when we walked in we had a nice table near the buffet.

After all these years, there was the man himself - MM !!!! Had a photo and he played with kids, we also saw Chip, Dale, Goofy, Donald and Pincocchio if memory serves ! The bill was around 140 Euro (but our premium vouchers covered everything but the 2 alcoholic drinks - so we paid 10 Euro)

A lovely night and great start to our holiday, back to Cheyenne quite late and bed, alarm set for 6am !

DAY 2
Breakfast was lovely, crossisants, pain du chocolate, bread rolls, you could also make toast, cheese, ham, cereals (golden balls, chocolate crunch, special K, Frosties), milk, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, jams etc. There was also fruit salad, but this was the tinned variety. I wondered if there were many guests as it was soo quiet !

The hot chocolate was divine !!!! It was quiet this morning so we enjoyed breakfast before coming out of reception and going to the bus stop (about 30seconds walk).

Bus very quiet and comfortable - and 2 mins later - DISNEYLAND !!!!

It was 8am, time for magic hours, so we headed to main park and used our tickets for the first time ! Our bags were checked - well really just glanced in it !

And there it was - THE CASTLE !!! I can't explain how beautiful and magical it was to stand in Disney with that view !!!! We walked up main street practically alone ! The park is clean and magical, everything has the disney touch ! The views and park are a beauty to behold, so spend time taking it all in !

We headed to Fantasyland and went on the rides which open earlier, Dumbo, Teacups, Lancelot and then headed to Discoveryland for Buzz Lightyear (so cool) and Space Mountain 2 (horrendous - I am still having nightmares)!!!

At 10am we headed to Alice's Curiuos Labrinyth, which was really lovely, and we all enjoyed ! We then did a few more rides such as Pinocchio and Peter Pan's Flight before heading to Bella Note ! We had 3 meals between 4 but really 2 would have been enough !

Pizza, Garlic Bread, Donut and A Drink 12.30 Euro (Mickey Mouse shaped too) !!! Really tasty - I had the cheese pizza, hubby had the bolognese and said it was tasty ! We were quite stuffed so we wrapped the remaining pizza up and popped in our bag later.

I would say 2 between a family of 4 (with 2 young children) would suffice !

We then explored the castle and the secret underneath ! And the children loved seeing the stained glass windows and the story of Sleeping Beauty ! We then had a picture with Cinderella's Carriage !

We met many charachters including most from Robin Hood, White Rabbit, we waited patiently whilst other kids pushed - the parents are worse, and we had our turn for pics etc.

We spent most of today in Fantasyland/Discoveryland ! Checking off our list as we went, so we could make sure we tried to see all attractions !

Star Tours was a great experience - we all loved this simulator, even our 5 year old !

At 4.15 we sat near Central Plaza for the parade to begin at 5pm ! It was truly magical !! I have goosebumps thinking about it !!!! The music I have now in my car just so I can feel the disney vibe again !

We then decided to head back to Cheyenne for an hours sleep (we were so tired) before the evenings festivities !!!!

BUFFALO BILLS WILD WEST SHOW

We were booked for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show at 9.30pm (hence the sleep earlier) !!!! We arrived and using our premium vouchers we went into the bar area. A lady came on to entertain us by juggling, followed by a band to get us in the mood helped by Goofy !! Really good fun !

The Show began and we were served our Chilli first with cornbread and tortillas. I am not a chilli fan so hubby ate mine, I wasn't keen on the corn bread - bizarre but the tortilla's went down a treat ! I had coke hubby had beer which were topped up thru the night.

The main of ribs (delicious) chicken (yum) potato wedges (divine) corn (lovely) was really tasty yet there was far too much !!! Followed by Apple Crumble and Ice Cream (wow this was a gorgeous dessert), the children enjoyed their scaled down version of our food and had a lolly for dessert.

The show itself is wonderful ! We were really entertained watching horses, cowboys, indians, mock battles etc. I won't spoil the show by telling everything !

We were in 2nd tier with a brilliant view, so I can't see the point in paying extra for first ! The cowboy hates are great quality too - we had to wear ours all the way home to Newcastle !!!!

Home to bed - Very Tired.........................

DAY 3
Studio's today !!! We had a later breakfast - bit over tired ! So it was about 8.30am. Busier but still able to find a table and still plenty of food !!!

Took our time and arrived at Studio's for about 9.45am.

Today was a great day ! Animagique (wow) Cinamagique (wow) - won't spoil these for anyone who hsn't been but please go !!!!!!!!!!! We and the children were amazed and loved them !

We also did The Motor Show (one for the dads) so professional and entertaining, as well as Studio Tram Tours - really fantastic !!!!!!!!!

We also did the Art of Animation Show and then all the activities at the end ! We caught the Stars and Cars Parade as Well as the Studio Parade too ! Met a few charachters - everytime I had a particular Disney t Shirt on - I met that Charachter !

Have to say Crush's Coaster..............was a bit too fast for me and the 5 year old...............wouldn't do it again, plus we didn't see much as we were at the back of the shell, as opposed to hubby and DD1 who said it was amazing and watched the whole story and saw Bruce the shark etc....we saw nothing !

(You can follow our journey in all our pictures) !!!

A brilliant day !

CAFE MICKEY

Dinner tonight - Cafe Mickey !
Table for 8.30pm but we arrived a little early and were seated downstairs.
This was a great night, the charachter interaction was fantastic and the meals delicious ! We saw Gepetto, Stitch, Mickey, Rabbit, Robin Hood, Chip and Dale, Eeyore, Sheffif of Nottingham...

I choose the Fantasia Mushrooms, Turkey Escalope with Cheese and Tomato with Baked Potato sour cream and bacon followed by creme brulee.........................FANTASTIC (Pic of food in albums), hubby opted for The Burger ! The Fantastia Mushrooms are Salty as I have read, this is because they use garlic salt as well in the dish ! But they were still tasty !

Kids had meatballs with pasta and really enjoyed it followed by the kids dessert trolly, but to be honest it was a bit bare !

The Bill was £140 Euro and our vouchers covered it, that was including 3 non alcoholic cocktails too!

Our waiter was lovely, nothing was too much trouble ! Kids had Alice's Drink me cocktail, but weren't overly keen !

DAY 4

Day 4 was all about Frontierland and Adventureland and it was being decorated for Halloween which was nice to see ! We did Big Thunder Mountain (my 5 year old wasn't overly happy) ! And went to Woody's Roundup to have pics and met Mickey and Minnie there too !

Also did Phantom Manor (brilliant) and POTC (again fab) ! Gosh I am fogetting !!!!!!!!!!!

WALTS
Dinner - well tea really at 3.45pm was at Walt's and it was outstanding food !

I had the crispy prawns with guacamole and asian salad followed by Veal with Bernaise Sauce and Crabmeat filled Tomatoes and then Mini Dessert Platter.

Hubby had Buscetta with Serano Ham, followed by T Bone Steak and then Apple Crumble.

DD1 - Fish and Chips and DD2 - Mickey Mouse Lunch - which was dip with raw vegetables, then pasta in tomato with cheese followed by fruit and chocolate sauce.

CLEAN PLATES - FULL TUMMIES !

Again the vouchers covered everything of the £140 bill, but we paid for our 2 drinks !

We watched the parade again and headed back to the Cheyenne so kids coiuld play with other children, have a few drinks in the sun and relax !

DAY 5
Going home day !! Boo !!!!!!!!! We went to park for 9am, and basically with our list did all the things we missed like Stitch Live (WOW - This is so fantastic), back on Buzz, Peter Pan Etc, and then shopped and shopped until it was time to be picked up before having a burger in Studio 1 - which was really tasty and good value ! Picked up pressies and gils spent their money they had saved DD2 picked 3 large stitch cuddly toys !

Left our luggage safely at Cheyenne and picked it up again at 2pm. RS Transports arrived at 2.15pm and we went back to airport to go home.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this - if you can be bothered I have 600 photos on display (actually there was over 800 but I cut them down) !!!

Here they are, and a HUGE thank you to everyone for their help - you really gave me the best advice and assistance ! I have probably forgotten so many things, so any questions please ask !

It was quiet and wonderful and I would go back in a heartbeat at the same time of year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ONLY incident that was negative was a horrid Irish Lady forcing her child on Stitch in the park, and not waiting her turn, she made me ashamed to be from the UK, she pushed and pushed and was rude and nasty, I had to say to my girls lets try later as I was losing my temper..........as it happens he came and spent time with us at Cafe Mickey's that night anyways. Be poilte and you may get noticed, when we met Daisy Duck, children pushed and she could see we were waiting, I was saying it's ok girls it will be our turn soon. When more children pushed in, she moved them away and beconed us forward for a picture as we were waiting and queing properly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the Pics !

Great trip report & fabulous photos.
when I went on space mountain I also kept My eyes shut the whole time too.
Maybe its better if You keep Your eyes open? :confused3
Dawn.

How did the irish woman make you embarrassed to be from the uk? Ireland isn't even in the UK.

great trip report

seems like you had a fab time

:cool1:

I meant to say British, but of course that would mean only NI.

I always class English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish as being from our side of world, but of course this isn't right !

The Brits were very good at queueing, but the French were not, obviously it's not all French people but the meets with lines were so much better !

Thanks for the replies, the problem is I now am looking for a 2010 hol and nothing is going to measure up..............would love to do WDW Florida but will need more time to save !

Hey,

Great trip report!:thumbsup2 and fantastic photos!:cool1:

Looks like you all had a brill time! Was this your first trip to DLP?:wizard:

I find the thing people complain about the most is the 'character scrum' - aka the pushing and shoving to meet characters! It really is ridiculous that there is no queuing system and that when there is people (mainly french and spanish) go out of their way to skip! I no longer do the scrum's because it's too stressful! I am glad to hear waiting patiently paid off for youprincess:. For most people waiting patiently usually means everyone skipping infront and the character being taken away before you get to meet them!:confused3::sad2:
I am shocked to hear and Irish person was doing this... I guess everyone gets in on the act when they are there... it's almost like survival of the fittest and it really does annoy me!

I have to say the major shock from your report for me was hearing stitch was in Cafe mickey! in all the years I have been going and reading trip rerpots etc I have never, ever heard of stitch appearing there:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: !!!!!! you were very lucky indeedy!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I am not long back from DLP myself, i was there from the 21st-26th (you can see my trip report on here)...post holiday blues are not fun!:guilty:

I hope you get going back or to florida soon:wizard:

Hi Stitches Girl :)

Yes 1st trip, made much easier thanks to all the help on this board !

I know what you mean, I love the Irish ! They are always so friendly and happy ! Maybe this lady was having a bad day, she was very rude to us other Mum's tho !

I was shocked to see Stitch, like you I didn't think he would be there, DD2 was so happy she had her 3 Stitch cuddly toys with her and Stitch kissed Stitch !

We had a wonderful time, don't think WDW is do-able in the next couple of years, will probably wait until DD2 is older as she was tired a lot walking at DLRP (little legs hehe) !

Love Me x

Hey

It is shocking how some people behave. When mum and I went to queue to meet Remy in the studios a mother pushed her 2 or 3 year old infront of us and told the child to walk forward in the queue, skipping another family...then the mother climbed over the railings to join the child. The mother of the family she skipped was not pleased and there was a big argument in french gioing on infront of me! The woman who she had skipped had every right to be mad but what really got me was the woman who had caused the problem was arguing back like she was in the right and blaming it on the child!! Like the fact of the matter was it was a small queue anyway of less that 10 people or groups of people and yet she still tried to skipp!!:sad2:
totally ridiculous lol!

Its great that being on this board helped you out so much on the trip!

stitch kissing stitch sounds cute hehe! He is very cool!:cheer2:

Its hard for adults never mind children to walk it, so it must be really exhausting for them!

Maybe you will get back to DLP sooner than you think:wizard:
