DLR Vet Planning Family's 1st WDW Trip! Now November 2012!!!!

Just found a Holiday Inn Express in close proximity for $117/nt advance purchase 1 king and 2 sets of bunks. I like this option because DH and I get a big bed and I think the kids would enjoy the bunks. Probably has breakfast incl too.

DH had shoulder surgery today. I'm wondering if he will really be up to Disney by November. :(

Oh, I hope your DH recovers quickly. I'm no doctor but I would hope that 2+ months from now he would be recovered enough to enjoy the trip.

Getting caught up I saw that at one time you were going to be at the Doubletree near WDW (Hotel Plaza Rd?) - we've stayed there several years ago and it was really spacious and worked well for us. But bunk beds are much more fun for the kids.

Thanks emmysmommy. Our payoff date is 29 days away. I hope to know by then. DH is actually doing pretty good so far. So I'm hopeful.

Either way, we will be going within the next year no matter what! :)

I DON'T EVEN WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT... Drive like mad for home!

OK, I'm hoping the money comes through next week. So I'm doing more planning in hopes.

If this deal is still available when the funds are here I am planning on doing the Royal Plaza deal through DISboards. 2DBL Beds + Sofa Bed for 2 nights = $288.44 including fees and taxes. I figure there may also be a "resort" or "Parking" fee when I get there as well. We will spend 11/21 and 11/22 nights there.

The other change I've made is to, you guessed it, our ADRs. Just a small change. After reading more people's opinions and seeing that we had mainly Character/Buffet style meals. I decided to nix Akershus in favor of Teppan Edo on our Epcot day.

I've also started looking at clothing options online with the kids. That way I'll have an idea of what they have in mind when the money comes in. I'm figuring three different disney outfits for each will be plenty. We will be doing laundry halfway through.

DH already has a couple of shirts that he got last time we went to DLR that he will probably wear. And I'll probably just let him pick a couple more at DTD when we arrive.

But I want to get the kids ahead of time to save some money.

I also saw a fun mickey ear tie die shirt online that I might like to try to make for some of the kids. Hmmm... google time!

Thanks for the input Kaleighbug. I was thinking I looked at that Holiday Inn and they couldn't accomodate our party of six in one room. I'll have to take another look.

I just found a deal on this hotel as well. Similar prices to Royal Plaza but not on property. However, they seem to have better reviews.

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, A Sky Resort

Money should be here any day. Then I will make my final decision and book. Just putting some ideas here so I remember what I was researching when the time comes.

Picking up the check Friday. I sure hope the bank doesn't put a long hold on it. Our payoff day is next Tuesday. Eek! I have the travel agent checking to see if they can extend our date.

Meanwhile I looked and worst case scenario we could rebook with the room only discount and stay offsite one more night and onsite one less night and do our meals OOP and be at about the same budget.

Excited! Next month!!! Stressed about the payoff though.

Turns out our limit is per banking day and since Monday is a holiday I guess I'll make the final payment on our payoff day, Tuesday.

Last night I booked our offsite nights. I was having such a hard time choosing a hotel. Then I saw the "Top Secret" deals on Travelocity. There was one for Lake Buena Vista area for $104/nt that had four star+ ratings. I talked it over with DH and we decided to go for it. It ended up being at the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa in a 2 BD suite. Yay!

I also preordered PP+ yesterday.

Things are getting exciting. Next step is Disney Wardrobe for the family. The girls and I are going to make Pony O's to wear with their outfits.

Sounds like plans are falling into place! How exciting that final pymt has been made! Now for some shopping!

We ordered PP+ recently and it worked out well. :thumbsup2 At least I thought it went well, my DH and DD thought they spent far too much time smiling in front of a camera!

Since we are doing the Photopass+ thing and I plan to annoy my family at least as much as any other mom with posing for pictures, I thought I should start planning outfits. So I just purchased coordinating Mickey and/or Minnie shirts in Red, Black, Grey and White variations at the disneystore.com. Six shirts for $104 including shipping is not too bad. Better than buying them onsite! A few of them qualified for the two for $30 deal.

Now I can buy some more ribbon for the girl's Pony O's. :)

:cheer2:

We made Ashlee and Aimee Pony-O's tonight! They turned out so cute!

We are calling Aimee's Piggie-O's. She said she didn't want to put them on until WDW.

Just read your PTR...looks like we will be there some of the same days. We are driving from NC so we are leaving the day after Thanksgiving and stopping halfway through. We are mainly doing this because my DS who will be almost 10 months will be with us and I don't think he would do all that great in a car for 10 hours straight. My DD(6) would be fine, but not sure about the baby. We are going to try and get as far south as possible on Friday.

We are checking in at AoA on Saturday (24th) and staying in the LM rooms! Then will will head out on 11/29 (however don't want to even think about that right now).

I hope your family has a blast...your kids are adorable! Feel free to check out my PTR and make any suggestions or recommendations. :)
