DLR Vet Planning Family's 1st WDW Trip! Now November 2012!!!!

Hi DeeDee. Welcome. :) ill have to check out your PTR! It's sounds like we will be at AoA for most of the same days. We check in to AoA on 11/23 and leave for home bright and early 11/28 :(

I completely understand breaking up the drive with a little one. We drive to my parents twice a year for 24 hours one way. So my kids are pretty used to long car rides by now.

I'm so excited for WDW! :)

We got our first Disney outfits! YAY!

So cute!!! I was over at Babies R Us yesterday and found the cutest long sleeve onesies for my baby boy. One looks like Mickey, another Pooh and the third Tigger! I will be heading back there this weekend to get them (have to wait on a silly thing called a paycheck so I can get them). Oh and they all come with a little hat with ears. I figure I might as well take advantage now because he can't fight me about the clothes I put him in at this point...however I know that will change in a few years. LOL

I'm planning on posting some pics of the outfits I have purchased for the kids in my PTR at some point. :)

32 days to go!

Yesterday I preordered Brave and plan to save it for the kids to watch on the road trip. :)

I also ordered two more sets of headphones so now all the kids will have them and I can listen to music.

I went over all the kids priorities for rides in each park and I plan to work on some touring plans this weekend. We may not stick to them, but I want to have a plan so that we can minimize the time figuring out where we want to go once we are there.

The girls and I have done some more shopping. We got some cute skirts for them to wear with leggings. And they don't know it but I've also ordered some really cute petti skirts. I'll post pics later.

One month! Happy dance!

Received some if the girls clothes that we ordered from Target yesterday and some Disney ribbon to include in the girls red variety Pony-O's. I'll post pic when I'm at the computer.

Love the shirts!

Your trip is getting so close now. I bet the kids are getting very exicted.

Thanks! We are getting very excited. I need to get more organized. I have this package over here and that package over there. Gift cards and parking voucher in my desk. Misc plans and conf#s on the computer. I feel like I'll forget something. I need to go ahead and get some suit cases out and start tossing stuff in. But our cars freak out when we get the suitcases out. Maybe I'll find a big box...

Just saved $20 on my Photopass Plus by calling and asking for a refund down to the new lower price! Woo Hoo!

This morning I also found an ADR for 'Ohana on our last night. It is a late ADR but DH said he didn't care. We really want to go there. I also asked him if he thought we should cancel one of our other ADRs in favor of saving some money, since this one through us over on TS credits. He said no, he didn't want to miss out on anything we already had planned. :)

I have touring plans for three of the four parks now.

Still haven't received MM. But TA said she sent in Monday, so any day now! :)

I ordered some Starbucks coffee pods for the room on Monday too. So I'm expecting those soon.

And I have a great surprise for the girls that should arrive in the next couple of days as well. Not one, but two pettiskirts for each girl! AND I got zebra Mickey head appliques to match one of them. So we will have a t-shirt project to do after they arrive. I'm thinking I'll put them on white v-neck t-shirts and Bling them up and make matching Pony-O's!

I bought DH some touristy shirts at Dillards for $5/ea last weekend. I think we are all set for clothes for our trip.

So here is the overall schedule summary as it is now.

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 - Leave after I get home from work and drive all night!

Wednesday, November 21, 2012 - Arrive at Disney around noon-ish and explore a little. Maybe eat at EOS. All food today is OOP. Check in to Lake Buena Vista Resort Villages & Spa for our two offsite nights. Get to bed early!

Thursday, November 22, 2012 - Animal Kingdom at Rope Drop, Breakfast in Room, CS - Flame Tree OOP, late snacks or drive through on the way back to our room. Bed at a decent hour.

Saturday, November 24, 2012 - Sleep in! No Park plans. Breakfast ADR at Cape May Cafe 10:15 a.m. No serious plans or schedule. Laundry, explore, pool. Date night for me and DH. We have discussed adding a day to our tickets and going to MK without the kids! We also have an ADR at Raglan at 8:00 p.m. This meal would be OOP.

Sunday, November 25, 2012 - Epcot at Rope Drop, Breakfast in Room, ADR Tepan Edo at 3:40 p.m.

Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - ADR at 'Ohana 7:35 a.m. then off to Magic Kingdom no touring plan, just take it easy and catch some rides we want to repeat or that we didn't catch on the first MK day. Rest at room until late 'Ohana ADR at 9:45 p.m. (unless I can snag an earlier 'Ohana dinner ressie).Got 'Ohana moved up to 8:40pm! Trying for 7:30 ish.

Wednesday, November 28, 2012 - Leave as early as possible to drive home! :(

So here is my Magic Kingdom touring plan. I made it by using RideMax and making three different plans throughout the day and copying them into a Word doc to make a complete day. I know we probably won't stick 100% to plan, especially as it gets later in the day. But we like to start with a plan so that things stay moving along.

Friday, November 23, 2012 – Magic Kingdom

Arrival Suggestions
If you are driving a car to the Magic Kingdom, we recommend arriving at the parking lot 45 minutes before your plan's starting time. This will allow you time to take the tram from the parking lot, board the monorail, and arrive at the front gates of the park on time. If using Disney's bus transportation, we recommend arriving at your hotel's bus stop one hour before this plan begins.
After arriving at the park's turnstiles, if you find a large crowd waiting to enter the park, you may find the turnstiles on the far left-hand side to be less crowded than those on the right. Note that even if a turnstile isn't staffed by a Disney employee, if a large green-lighted arrow is visible on the
front face of the turnstile, you may use that turnstile to enter the park.

1. Upon arrival, if you wish to take a shortcut into Tomorrowland, we suggest making a right-hand turn immediately at the end of Main Street, as soon as you pass the Ice Cream Parlor. You may then proceed through the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station and make your way into Tomorrowland. This route is a bit shorter than using the main bridge walkway into Tomorrowland, which begins near the circular "hub" in front of the castle.

2. The Tomorrowland Speedway is one of two attractions which get very busy early in the day (Dumbo is the other one). If you arrive here later than your scheduled arrival time, you may want to skip this ride in order to help keep the rest of your schedule intact.

3. At this time of day, you may arrive at the Tomorrowland Speedway and find three lanes of cars running. In this situation, when you get to the point in the queue where you have the option of proceeding over the short bridge to the third lane, we recommend staying in the near-side line. The near-side line will be feeding two lanes of cars, rather than just one, causing it to move more quickly.

4. Note that the wait time shown here for the Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor is approximate, and will vary depending on your arrival time relative to the show already in progress. To increase your chances of interacting with the onscreen characters, we recommend locating a seat in the first few rows near the center aisle.

5. Shortly after entering the Haunted Mansion building, you will be directed to a large octagonal room which displays portraits high on the walls. In order to get ahead of some of the crowds here later, try to stand near the wall which displays the portrait of a young woman holding a parasol.

6. The recommended arrival time shown here for the parade assumes that you will be viewing the parade somewhere along the street between the Liberty Square and Frontierland areas of the park. These areas typically allow better parade viewing with less waiting than does Main Street. Note that the parade begins on Main Street and runs toward Frontierland, so it will typically take just over 15 minutes from the time the parade starts for it to arrive in this section of the park. (We've included this "lag time" in the duration time shown for the parade.)

I have never been to AK and I'm not sure how my plan will work out. I tried to look at the map and be logical. I had more of an advantage with MK because of having a general idea of how things will work from being at DLR so many times. I know that things are more spreadout though, so I really tried to make that plan one that doesn't criss-cross the park at all.

Here is what I have for Animal Kingdom it's kind of a hybrid made up plan after researching and looking at RideMax and Touring Plans. I may complete scrap this and work with TP Lines app when it comes down to it, we'll see.

For now here it is:

OK, we have a few loose ends to tie up with the girls outfits.

Today their pettiskirts arrived and they are thrilled!

Untitled by momjeeps, on Flickr

Those will obviously be their first MK day outfits.

They also got zebra print pettiskirts like this... We are going to make shirts to go with them. We are still waiting for DS12's skirt to be delivered with the mickey applique heads. Then we will probably buy some bright pink shirts and bling to go with the Pony-Os we made already. They will wear these to Animal Kingdom.

Untitled by momjeeps, on Flickr

They also have their Hollywood Studio outfits all picked out. But we need to make some Pony-O's to match.

Untitled by momjeeps, on Flickr

We still need to decide what they will wear to Epcot. But they both have these skirts too. So maybe we will find something to go with them...

Untitled by momjeeps, on Flickr

I think for our second day at MK they will either rewear their original MK outfits or change them up with the same shirts and use the zebra skirts again. We are doing laundry anyway.

I need to get DS10 one more pair of leggings.

We need to finish up AK outfits.

We need to decide/buy something more for Epcot.

We need to make some more Pony-Os.

Here is what I have to Epcot so far.

We made a change today. We swaped our HS day with our 2nd MK day. We decided we wanted the EMH at MK on the 26th. The hours for HS were the same both days. The crowds will be a little heavier at MK, but we get more time and I'm happy with it. The only casualty was SciFi Diner. I haven't been able to get an ADR for the 27th for that. So I think we are going to keep our 'Ohana plans. It's be a little less OOP this way anyway.
