DLR to Hollywood

Hi all,
I am in the process of planning a trip to California for August and we are sooooo excited! I have a question about travel time.
We plan on spending 3 days touring DLR and then would like to spend 2 days doing the Hollywood/LA thing. It appears to be cheaper (and less of a pain in the butt) to change hotels to one closer to Hollywood/Santa Monica area.
So.... how long (approx) is it to drive from Anaheim to downtown Hollywood. We would like to do a Starline tour. They do offer pick up in Anaheim, but I can't find anyone on the boards here that has done that and I am unsure as to how that would go. Thinking about driving in to Hollywood and picking up the bus there.
What do you all think?

I've done the trip to Hollywood many times. Its around 34 miles and how long it takes depends on traffic and the time of the day. It could be 45 to 75 min. Most times I planned for an hour.

If you are planning to be there for an excursion then go early and walk around the main street a while. There is lots to see! You can even check out the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store.

When you are at Hollywood you aren't that far from Beverly Hills, Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier (about 12 miles). The Pier is well worth the visit.
