It's been a crazy busy few months for us as we decided to sell our house and move. Months ago I booked a hotel for this weekend and next not sure of which weekend we could go. We were supposed to move this weekend, but it got post-poned for a few weeks, so we're going to Disneyland this weekend. Yeah! and Oh No!

I expect it will be busy, but we'll manage that as we have DAPs and won't worry about missing out too much. We're going for the Christmas experience, and it's been 3 years since we've been for Disney Christmas. So...

What do we need to do:
*Pictures with Santa (Maxpass on my AP)
*Christmas Parade
*Small World Holiday
*Haunted Mansion Holiday (we did this for Halloween trip, but I think it's better at Christmas)

Other Holiday suggestions?

We're only going to be in the parks all day Saturday and then Sunday from about 8-12. I'm not sure whether we should see the Christmas Fireworks or WOC on Saturday night. We've never seen the Holiday WOC, but the Fireworks with snow is so special. Any opinions?

We also must ride Guardians for my daughter and Screamin' since it's closing. I'm considering getting Max Pass for at least my husband and daughter that day if not my son too just to make it easier since it's such a short trip.

ALSO: We are not interested in candlelight. We will be seeing the earlier parade and avoiding Disneyland in the afternoon. Probably starting at DCA, hopping to Disneyland late morning, and then hopping back to DCA early afternoon. We may save Small World and Haunted Mansion for Sunday morning and make Saturday a mostly DCA day to avoid the craziness of Candlelight.

Any opinions on which Santa is better?

I would suggest getting Maxpass for everyone for your full day. It saves the time and legwork in getting fastpasses. Members of your family want to go on at least 4 fastpass attractions it sounds like. It's a Small World Holiday has fastpass now and showed waits of 60 minutes and up regularly during Thanksgiving week. We skipped both fireworks and World of Color last week because we just weren't up for the long, long days and the crowds, but I really enjoyed the World of Color last year and think it's the same show this year. If I was in the park and fastpasses for the early show were still available, I would pick that. There are some fun holiday food items in the park right now, so I would look some of that up ahead of time and plan your meal for wherever the most appealing stuff to you is.

MaxPass will definitely help your plans with such a short trip! Guardians, HMH, Small World & Screamin can all be done with MP. Hope you have a magical holiday time this weekend!!

Thanks. It looks like there is only one WOC showing at 9:45. It's a bit late, but so are the fireworks. Not sure why they don't have two showings. I was thinking of trying a few of the holiday booths. We don't eat meat though, so that limits things. I've heard the Mac&Cheese is good though and bet my kids will like that.

There is not any information about the Candlelight Processional on the events schedule. Does anyone know what time the first one is? We don't want to be in Disneyland when that is going on.

We all liked the mac & cheese. My husband and older son were big fans of the cheesy potatoes too although they both said the ones I make were still better. :-)

Personally...we stayed to watch the fireworks a few weekends ago and I wish we had done something else. There were sooo many people crammed in watching fireworks.

My holiday suggestions: Try the chocolate coffee yule log at plaza inn, it's delicious! Also the praline cheesecake at the French Market is also delicious! The gingerbread house in the GCH deserves a look at! It's pretty awesome.

OH MY.... I just Googled the chocolate coffee yule log, and I am drooling over here! We are going for the first time next week and are planning to eat at The Plaza Inn, so this is DEFINITELY a dessert I've got to try!!

I would start at Disneyland, then go over to DCA, since it is candlelight this weekend, Disneyland will be packed by 11 AM or so, possibly earlier since they have made it such a mystery who the narrator is this year.

Thanks for the suggestion. Disneyland has EMH/MM on Saturday and DCA doesn't. The main thing we need to do at Disneyland on Saturday is see the parade at 1PM. We can do the rides on Sunday if needed. I don't like starting at the park with EMH if I can help it since we don't get to partake.

The first processional is at 530, figure the crowds around town square will be full by 3pm. 2nd processional is at 745, but it will be hectic from 3p-9p.

You should have asked for a picture. :) I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
