This trip is both mine and Lisa's Christmas present
and we are celebrating Lisa's birthday while we are away
Following our trip to WDW last year, Mark announced he was all Disneyed out and we should rent our DVC points out for a couple of years and go out to our place in Spain during the school holidays. I was really sad not to have my Disney fix
However was overjoyed when Mark relented last Christmas and said we could go back to DLPR for a long weekend. We have already been with our friends Lisa and Maurice to WDW and DLRP so arranged our Christmas present for July to coincide with Lisa's birthday.
We booked our stay at the Sequoia Lodge with our DVC points. Our season ticket with Seafrance was good for two cars on one trip and we purchased the length of stay passes through DVC. In order to make a proper weekend of it we were staying the first night in Dover, then three nights at Sequoia Lodge and for the day of Lisa's actual birthday spend the night at Calais.
Its Thursday 24th July and I am working a half day. Everyone else is off work and of course the kids are off school. Mark picks me up at 12 and we go straight off to Lisa's and drive down to Dover. The journey is not too bad although we have to go on the A2 as the Motorway is shut. We arrive at the Premier Inn in good time to have lunch. We check in and manage to find an outside table in the restaurant.
The seagulls seem to enjoy it too!
The service is a bit slow (we are not lucky with our meals this holiday!), but the food is nice. The weather is lovely and go for a walk along the seafront.
.
We head off along the pier. It gets a bit windy
We go back to the hotel and get ready for dinner. As we remember the service is slow we order bottles of wine instead of glasses. However the service is exceptionally slow and we are all really thirsty!!!
Finally we finish our meal and go straight to bed as we are off early in the morning.
