After our Disney med cruise last month I have managed to persuade my husband for a DLP trip in October for our big birthdays and first anniversary :cool1: There is a slight catch though, we have to do it on a budget! We will be going for about 5-7 days in October (not the half term week) and I plan to have 2 days travelling into Paris on the train. We also have a 3 yr old!

I have a lot of questions I wander if you can help me with please?

We are about 2.5 hrs from Dover and would take a ferry crossing, how much are tolls? I'm not sure it'll save any money driving compared to the Eurostar using some Nectar points.

Any recommendations of cheap accomodation with a kitchenette?

Annual Passes seem like a good deal and i've seen the offer on CE Multivantages which works out better than a 3 day ticket! But it states they are valid to be exchanged 6 months from date of issue, how will I know the issue date?

If weget the Annual Pass am I right in thinking you get a free ticket for the month of your birthday to the Wild west show/dinner? If so both our birthdays would have been the few days before we get the tickets, would this still count and would they have spaces available at such a short notice or can you book in advance and not be charged when you show your AP on the day???

The tolls are currently €20.20 each way going from Dover-Calais, I reckon it will be cheaper to drive unless you can get a really good deal with Eurostar.

Don't forget the CE Multivantages deal you have to pay a €20 fee to join. I assume the date of issue is the day you purchase them online

Hello,

Say you go in Octobre and both your birthdays are in Octobre it counts, doesn't matter if it's before or after you get your AP
If you birthday is say the 30th of Septembre and you go the 2nd of Octobre it doesn't count

You can reserve in advance (tell them that you have 2 AP)and pay when you get there for the 3rd ticket in need be or go and see when you get there it's up to you
Don't forget that BBWWS is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays :)

I don't know when the UK half term is but in France it's school holidays from the 22nd of October to the 3rd of Novembre so I'd avoid those dates if possible

* depending on which dates you're going exactly and on how important or not EMH is for you, you can go for a fantasty pass instead of a dream pass (fantasy has about 30 blackout dates very spread out over de year and does not allow for EMH). if you buy it via ce multiav they will cost you respectively 109 or 149 euro. subscription is indeed 20 euro, so maybe you could check if no friends already have a subscription and have them buy them for you. since these passes also include a free annual pass for a child (up to 7 years) per adult pass purchased, maybe you could ask someone to buy them for you in exchange for putting one of the kid's names on the free kid's pass... it doesn't have to be your own kid; i put it on the name of the kid of a friend as a gift.... i also got my vouchers sent to my by email, so no problem there at all
* we booked a bed and breakfast, which was 85 euro per night inclusive of breakfast (if we would have been only 2, it would have been 75 euro per night). the accor (etap) hotel may have been slightly cheaper and maybe closer, but i preferred the charm of an old renovated mill. but you could look to rent an apartment, which over 7 days, especially in october, would likely work out even cheaper and would give you a kitchen.... try the website a-gites dot com or just google holiday rentals disneyland paris

I would recommend the Adagio in Val d' Europe for affordable accommodation with a kitchenette (microwave, 2 ring hob, fridge, dishwaher, saucepans, cutlery, crockery etc). It is beside a large shopping centre with a massive supermarket about 5 mins walk through the mall & there are several restaurants within a 2 minute walk from it. The train station (direct into Paris) is at the other end of the shopping centre - approx 10 minute walk from Adagio. They have a free shuttle into Disney, but you can also walk it in 20 mins (although you will probably have a car with you). We had a one bedroom apartment both times we stayed there & they were both fine.

Thanks.

I thought that the date they issue them is the date that the company purchase them from Disneyland?

That's really helpful, thank you.

If I purchased the fantasy pass, can you use them the same day as thought
I read that they weren't valid until the 3rd day after purchase?

Fantasy and Dream passes are not concerned by the 3 day rule. It's only Classic and Francilien

CE multiadvantages buy them as needed from Disney they don't have huge stocks in advance as it wouldn't be viable for them

So if I purchased the AP off of CE Multivantages or similar then i'm safe to assume they will be valid for our trip in October when i exchange them.

I am confused about the free show ticket though for our birthdays, how can I book this without paying in advance? don't know who to call/email to enquire.

Thanks again for your help

They are good for 6 months after emission, if you buy them now they will be valid for October judging by others experiences. If you want to make extra sure email CE they are very helpful

You can phone up the ticket office on 00 33 1 60 45 71 00 and reserve the 2 free BBWWS ones now as you pay when you pick them up. Just tell them that you have an AP and that you wish to reserve the free tickets due to your birthday :)

Carrie Cat - just wanted to double check this; that sounds very good being able to reserve without paying, bit surprised though there isn't a cut off date for paying otherwise they could end up with spare capacity if people don't turn up?

The tickets are free so there is nothing to pay :) and it is written up like that in the offer on the AP site Offre valable uniquement pour toute nouvelle réservation à effectuer au
01 60 45 71 00 ou sur place.

Tbh it's no different from when you make your restaurant reservation by phone or even on site, nothing is asked for as a guarantee and nothing stops you not canceling and them having empty spaces :)

So I called France yesterday to book the BBWW show and spent 15 mins waiting to get through before giving up. My husband is not going to be happy with the phone bill :sad2:

Anyone know an email address?

P.S Carrie Cat, you have been so helpful, thank you

Is it a French phone number you're calling? If it is, you can cut your costs by calling 0844 200 90 90 first - then when prompted, the French phone number. This means you only pay 0.5p per minute from a UK landline.

That could be because they are closed Wednesdays and Thursdays so I don't know if there is anyone to take the reservations or not :confused3

PS- I've just phoned them and on Wed/Thurs the phone line is open from 11-5 UK time and the other days until 10pm UK time

They will take your reservation and you have to give them the day and time that you want and don't forget that you can choose Cat 1 or 2 for no extra charge. So if you are sure of your plans I'd reserve now but she said if it was for a birthday out of school holidays it wasn't really necessary and you could do it on arrival in the resort - it's up to you if you like to be organised or not I guess

In my case I've just reserved my free ticket for August :cheer2:

Great help, thanks to you both.

I did call about 12 yesterday so maybe they were just busy. Will try again tomorrow using the reduced rate number! I like to be organised :)

Thanks
