DLP in August from USA

Hello. I've been reading a lot of posts so I don't waste anyone's time asking questions that have been asked many times. I've been to WDW a few times. Usually go every 5 years or so. My DD who is 11 has been obsessed with watching Disney character meet and greets on YouTube ever since we went to WDW 2 years ago. She didn't even want to at the time. Anyway, now she really wants to go back to WDW this summer. I'm trying to come up with another Disney option since I have a 24 year old DD as well. So, Paris came to mind. I know summer is high season, but how bad is the last 2 weeks of August. DD11 has summer camps end in mid-August but school here doesn't start until the first week in September. Want to use my vacation from work when she has no camp options. Gosh, that was a long post for a simple question. The main tip I see if to book on another country's site. We will want to stay in Paris for a couple of days at least and stay at DLP for 2 or 3 days. I had played with the idea of a Disney Adventures Vacation Tour to Paris but DH is not a fan of organized tours. FLying from the east coast so hoping to find reasonable flights or use American Express points somehow! Have a nice day!

Hi!

Not sure how much help I'll be, but I can offer some ideas (we're also from the States, but live overseas at the moment...and from the East coast! ).

I can't offer advice on the time of year, but I say if that's the only time you have to come over, then so be it! There are several great on site hotels to choose from, as well as a few off...and all very close to the train station, that you can then take into Paris if you opt to...it's a very easy commute into the city.
Mapping out what you want to see in advance will save you alot of time wandering around scratching your head.

And if you're planning to stay a few days in Paris, we recently stayed in Paris for New Years Eve, at a fantastic hotel only a few metro stops from the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Actually, we paid a slight bit more for a Tower-view room. Dreamy....

Plus, it has a very nice/higher end shopping center attached and it's own connected Metro station. Makes sight seeing in a foreign city a bit easier, having everything right there.
It's the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile.

I wouldn't bother with a Paris tour via Disney, very simple to manage on your own (and aside from Merci, we basically speak zero French...lol)...

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to check out that Hyatt in Paris. You mentioned everything being close to the metro. Would a trip to Versailles be out of the question without a car? Do you really need the extra magic hour in the park if we decide to stay at one of the Good Neighbor hotels?

We actually went to Versailles on this last trip.
And we took the metro, takes you right there, a few blocks walk to the Palace...though do get there early, there was a 2 hour long line JUST to get to the door to get in...but the gardens are free to wander around, and no wait to go in there...and you can pay 10€ if you only want to visit Marie Antoinette's home on the grounds, which is what we ended up doing...
But no, no need for a car!

We occasionally go into the park for EMH, not often though. Maybe someone else can chime in about that. There are usually only a handful of rides open in Fantasyland and Discovery land (Buzz, Peter Pan, Dumbo, etc...usually the same ones, unless something is being refurbished, then they tend to open another.)
So while EMH can be great to ride a certain ride you love about 10 times over and over (like my kiddo and Buzz...lol)...but beyond that, I'm not sure it's worth the early rise.

Thanks for your reply. DD11 doesn't want to go to Paris. We are switching our gear to California. I've have to start researching that one.
