Hey guys. My DH has decided that we will be going to Paris for our anniversary September 2016 instead of our yearly WDW trip however he also stated we will be going to DLP for 2 days. I'm so excited but I'm used to planning my WDW trips and know that its different at DLP. We will be staying at a relatives house while they are away so won't be staying at a hotel. Am wondering how FPs work, dining and also how far apart is Disney Park and the Studios. Also do you know if they ever have discounts on tickets at all. And any suggestions are welcome.

TIA.

FP are paper variety - You can only have one FP at a time however the 2 parks aren't connected so could have one from each park. The window for the next FP opens as soon as your time slot for the other starts or 2 hrs after collecting it- whichever is sooner. No need to book them in advance like WDW

No need to book dining so far in advance like WDW either. I think you can book at 60 days out (may be wrong on that - sorry) but most people only book a couple of weeks in advance or even when they arrive. Not all restaurants are open every day and some in the parks are only open for lunch

The 2 parks are next to each other - have you been to DL California ? DLP is similar to that in planning style

Thank you!! It sounds like I don't have to worry about planning to much. I usually love planning our WDW trips but I'm also planning out our other 10 days in Paris so this good.

Yep restaurants are 60 days out but for September unless there is one you really really want to do you will find room easily. The 2 that do get booked up are Café Mickey and Auberge de Cendrillon

The parks and hotels are quite nearby eachother. From the enterance from park A to park B is a few minutes by foot. Disney Village (where you can shop, dine, etc.) is just as close.

Fastpasses for attractions are available during the day. The attractions that have Fastpasses say so on the free park map, available at the enterance of the parks. It works pretty much the same as in other resorts. You can get one using your enterance tickets or anual passes nearby the actual attraction. It will say what time you can come back to join the short Fastpass-line. You can get one at a time per ticket. When your time slot comes up, you can get the next Fastpass. Unless it's more than 2 hours away, in that case you can get a new Fastpass after those 2 hours. All the popular attractions have Fastpasses really, so you should check for yourself which ones you want to do. :thumbsup2

To make it easy: I would say one third of your time should be spend in the Walt Disney Studios, the other two third in Disneyland Park. Disneyland Park really is the main park with most shows etc. There will be meet and greets in both parks. Exact times are stated on the park program, available at the enterance of both parks for free. We can't really tell who you can meet at that time. Only "Meet Mickey" in Fantasyland in Disneyland Park is every day, year round. And the Princess Pavilion is open most of the year, so I think that will be open then too.
In Disneyland Park, you can see Disney Magic On Parade (daily, most of the time somewhere between 4.30 and 6 PM, time and route stated on program/park map) and Disney Dreams! (daily, at closing time of the park by the castle). For other entertainment you should really check the program by the time your trip is nearly there, because it isn't released yet.

On this page you can check info about restaurants and their locations, general opening hours, menu's and pricing:

For some Table Service restaurants you should make reservations. If you choose Auberge the Cendrillion, Café Mickey, Inventions, Bistro Chez Remy, Walts, Silver Spur, Blue Lagoon, I would recommend this. You can do this by phone 60 days prior to arriving by phone or during your stay at your hotel concierge or at City Hall in Disneyland Park. For other restaurants, just show up. :)

Good luck! If you have any more questions, just ask. :goodvibes

Sounds like a lovely trip!!

What I love about DLP is it is easy to get around - the parks are close together so park hopping is ideal. Enjoy the details, the beauty of Disneyland Parc, and the updated attractions. Also I would suggest a slower, leisurely pace as there really aren't that many attractions (at least compared to WDW), and enjoy some long table service or buffet meals rather than the counter service variety. These two priorities have made my DLRP trips very enjoyable!

So for planning you can decide where you want to eat! You should be able to find current menus online - at dlrp magic or dlrp today.
