We have a trip planned in a few weeks and are looking into what type of room to "request". Has anyone stayed in a room with a "daybed"? How big is it? We are trying to decide if its large enough for our 11yr old to sleep on.

DH and I are not small people and trying to sleep in a queen bed usually results in a terrible nights sleep. It will be us, and 11yr old (nearly adult sized) and our 2.5yr old. I was hoping for a King w/ a daybed and then our 2.5 yr old in a pack n play. Does such a thing even exist?

Any insight or suggestions would be welcome!

Yes, they have rooms like that, but they are few. The day beds are actually pretty good sized. I would call it a long twin. My younger daughter (23) usually gets to sleep on it.

They do exist, but they are given preferentially to folks with 5 in their party (2 queens, 1 daybed). My impression is that most rooms have 2 queens and then if you have 5 in your party they'll make sure you get a room with a daybed.

It wouldn't hurt to call and explain the situation and ask though. In general CS is great at the DLH and I bet they'd work with you to accomodate. The 2 queens/daybed rooms would work for you as well. You and your DH each get a queen bed, the 11yo on the daybed, and baby in the P&P.

I think they are looking for a King with a day bed. MOST King rooms have daybeds. But I think there are fewer than 50 in the resort. I would call and request it ahead of time.

Thank you for your help! We will call and request the King with daybed. Can't hurt and if we end up with something else. we'll just roll with it. I'm there for the park and magic anyway. I can sleep when I'm home, right? :)
