DL with band in March!! UPDATE: Just back! Mini TR 3/21 16 major rides in a day

You never fail to deliver, DLR29.
Glad your "group" had a great time and got so much accomplished.:thumbsup2
And thanks for sharing.:)

Wow...you got a lot done. Glad you all had a great time. And congrats on placing 2nd!!

Nice Job with the hopping and use of FP. I'm impressed! :yay:

Sounds like you had a great trip!

Someday you will look back on the "dumb ceremony" as something unique you got to do at DL. Someday....

And wow, impressive list of rides in one day. Lots of hopping, but well planned out and nicely done.

Most importantly, sounds like you had fun! Glad you enjoyed your trip!

Great report DLR! You sure do know how to "do it" right!

You must have walked 15 miles with all that hopping.

Sounds like a great day regardless of the "dumb ceremony"....but, I want to know how your friends liked touring with you as their guide. They have to be totally impressed on how much you can accomplish is you have the right game plan.

Glad you had such a fun trip.

OMG, I went to Paly! And I was in the marching band (we marched back then!). We went to Disneyland to perform in 1989? Sometime around then, doesn't feel like a long time but it looks like it when I type it out!

Cool! Wow, imagine another Paly person on the DIS. Soon (3 months) I will join the Paly alumni officially instead of just being a student.

Yeah, I was skeptical when my "group" enlarged from 8 to 12 people, but in the end it all worked out really well.

Wow...you got a lot done. Glad you all had a great time. And congrats on placing 2nd!!

Thanks. We didn't even practice very much as a combined group because the band that we took down to DLR was a combination of students from both the freshman band and the 10th-12th grade band. We probably had 3 or so lunchtime performances together before we left, so we are very proud of placing 2nd.

Nice Job with the hopping and use of FP. I'm impressed! :yay:

I'm still amazed that we used 7 FP sets. That's almost a record for me for # of FPs in one day. :thumbsup2

Phew ~ what a day, sounds like fun.

It was a tiring day. We left on the buses at 1:30AM and I slept for 6 hours when we got back to my school. Then I slept until 2PM once I got home. But it was all worth it.

Sounds like you had a great trip!

Yeah, already me and my friends have been joking around about "the ceremony". :rotfl2: It is one of those things that is just not a great experience at the time, but it is great to laugh about later. The ceremony also allowed me to venture back into a part of the park that I've never been in. There really is a ton of space back there.

Glad you had such a fun trip.

My friends were so grateful of my touring tricks. I got many "thank yous" and compliments. Many of them kept saying how fun the day was, which was great for me. A couple even said that DLR exceeded their expectations. I showed them why I truly love DLR.

I too went to Paly in the late 80's and marched through Disneyland with the Paly band.

DLR29, congrats on your trip and your upcoming graduation!

Sounds like a lot of fun, I'm a band geek too, now in So Cal. Our Community Band plays at one of the two parks every year. What instrument do you play? What pieces did you play in competition?

I grew up in the Bay Area and went to Monta Vista High School if you've every heard of it. I had a boyfried who went to Paly my Freshman year.

Sounds like you packed a heck of a lot into that one day, but I know what you mean about sitting through a long presentation when you could be out riding the rides!

Nice report. :thumbsup2 On days like this when you have restrictions the park and FP knowledge are even more helpful.

I hope that your group appreciated your touring expertise. :thumbsup2

If I were in that group, I would have been buying you Dole Whips, ice cream cones, coconut macaroons drizzled with chocolate, etc. :worship:
