DL vs. MK?

i live in southern california, so i'm plenty acquainted with disneyland. what all is different about magic kingdom?

That was a great list. Just thought I'd add that some of the attractions that are in both MK and DL are different. The Jungle Cruise, for example is much longer in MK, while Space Mountain seems more thrilling (to me) at DL. I've read that it's darker and has bigger drops at DL, but I can't recall exactly, my memory isn't good enough to compare them when I don't ride one right after the other!

Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion are slightly different between the two parks, too.

Also, MK at WDW is bigger, walkways are generally wider and more space between attractions. Couple that with less attractions, and it feels so huge and spread out when you're used to DL.

Didn't DL just completely renovate Space Mountain to a coaster more like RnRC? No loops, but a new blast off beginning?

There is simply no comparison in the "majesty" of the two. A lot of it has to do with WDW isolated location that makes you "know" you are in the "kingdom". Disneyland - you still look out and see the city, streets, buildings, etc. - the real world.

I have a question - I have never been to WDW but to DL quite a bit when I was living there about 12 years ago.

Did they take out the Country Bear Jamborree and the Hall of Presidents in DL?

They were there when I used to take my daughter

I appreciate them both in different ways, but just want to warn you if you're a Fantasyland person--- MK Fantasyland might be a huge letdown compared to DL. It feels like it has half as many attractions and Small World is stuffed away rather than being in that wonderful majestic building with the clock.

In many ways I prefer DL, but it is hard to get used to how modest the castle is compared to MK.

They both have their pros and cons.

Splash Mountain is a bit different, too. In the Magic Kingdom, there are a few more drops than there are at the Splash Mtn. in Disneyland.
