DL trip with DS19 - 8/24 to 8/27 **w/photos!

I just returned! I don't 'do' play by play TR's....so this will be highlight moments with photos........
Arrived at LAX...nice short (1hr 20 min) flight...went as smooth as possible. The night before I was ready for bed.....but later I got up to do something quick in the kitchen....my husband said our ds took off ....not sure where? :confused3

I wake up and dh was already up and I asked where did ds go last night? DH said ds had earache. :guilty:

Oh gosh!!!! We get ready and ds son said he couldnot hear out of one ear but he was fine. We are on plane and his ear hurt during take off, but when we were landing.......he was in PAIN!!!!! Poor thing. I was saying we can call and find out about some med clinic we can take a taxie to...etc. He kept saying he was fine once we were at motel (CCI!!!)
(he pretty much was fine during trip and his ear did fine going home).

Candy Cane Inn---Loved this place!!! We arrived at 10am ish and I expected ! to have them hold our luggage and we would go to DL until 3pm checking....but they gave us the room then!!! what a nice treat! ---
We were in the room for just a few moments and I had a panic attack moment!!!!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!! I stupidly left my carry on little bag with my new Canon IS S2!!!!! in the Prime Time Shuttle van!!!! :scared1:

Thank goodness! we remembered the van # and I put in the phone number in my cel (sure saved time and being stressed looking for numbers, etc to call). I called.....they took down the information.......they called me back in just a few moments. My DS took the call......they explained the driver was about to get on freeway back to the Airport and there would be a fee....sure sure...no problem.....Just about 5 min later, the front desk called and the driver was there. I hurridly trotted to the office area and thanked the driver and gave him $20. Gosh. Way to start off the trip. :sad2:

finally unpacked, etc. and headed to park. (11:30 ish). I cannot remember what rides we went on and it really does not matter.............We headed towards Downtown Disney first. I wanted to "show" ourselves at the Anne Geddes web cam! to daughter and a friend in Oregon!
We then went to California Adventure first. We went on TOT.....We did Soarin over California and LOVED that ride!!!!! We went on it about 4 time. during trip. BEST seat is B-1 Middle section first row. That was just the best ride. We also roamed and loved Mali Boomer. Soooo fun!

After awhile, we went to Disneyland........Space Mountain....Star Tours....all fun...... I suggested that ds and I try sometime the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and ds just blew me off. "Nah, I don't want to do that".......Well either that night or next day we went and he LOVED it!!!!!
ha ha ha ha He was pretty good too. :rotfl:

The funny thing was the next day we returned and he was ready to better his score........we were behind a mom and her 4 yr old son....At the end , my son did not better his prior score, but I pointed out that the MOM did like 143,000 points!!! My son was blown away!!!! :rotfl2:

I was a bit ticked off about Friday opening hours. They said the park (DL ) opened at 8:00 am. We got up, and arrived at 8:15. The lines were long !!! WTH??? So we stand and stand and stand. Nothing. Finally 8:30 the opened the gates..........we all filed in and then we had to wait again for the ropes to be dropped at the end of Main Street? I remember three years ago getting to park before it opened.....got in a SHORTER line! into DL and did not have to wait again! Well, Sat. (next day) was going to be Early Entry that I was able to participate in , but no way was I going to do that again just to get into Main Street earlier? Just not worth it to me. Just too hot, and standing around people trying to sqeeze in front of me so they , what, can walk in before two people? :crazy:

Friday we had a PS for Carnation Cafe for Breakfast. It was delicious! So nice and quaint (area). Loved the experience. I did have a bit of a melt down with DS before breakfast and I was about to not be with him for the day, but I won't bother you all with the details. :rotfl:

I must say, I did sweat alot....okay, perspire alot....okay fine, I glowed an awful lot! I glowed so fricken much you could have mopped the tabletops with me. geesh. I realize I am overweight....but I did keep up with all the walking, etc. but I just perspire so much. I must be a bigtime head sweater.

We did roam around Tom Sawyer Island. It was nice. Nice to take time out and roam. I got in some nice shots with camera.

Friday night we were getting out of POTC and it was just moments before fireworks.....we were guided to keep walking and we ended up in Tomorrowland. We could not stop for a moment. The fireworks were going for about 10 min....and just as we headed into BLAB(astro blasters)....they announced that the fireworks were going to be cancelled. AWWWW,
that sucks. oh well, we were not going to watch anyway.

What cracked me up was Saturday afternoon. It was about 1pm and we decided to go back to room and rest. I showered and we took a nap. OMG
I woke up first and looked at the time. It was 5:40!!!! 5:40!!!!! We slept for like 3-1/2 hours!!!! ha ha ha ha :rotfl2:

DS just laughed when he got up. We were hobbling and all. sore sore sore.

I love my son because he is pretty observant. We were waiting in Indiana Jones and were close to the point of getting on the vehicles. DS pointed out first to me this little boy that was being measured! Oh gosh. Did not look good. The boy was like hovering his hand over his head......We kept watching and saw that the father and boy walked away. We could not see for sure if they made it or not. We kept looking....they did not......Awwww~ :guilty:

They boy and dad stopped and the boy was crying..... :sad:

and the dad was talking to him.....that was just the sadest moment we saw.......

Friday Night we ate dinner at ESPN Zone. That was very enjoyable. Son enjoyed roaming a bit upstairs.

Saturday: Photo mishap::::::::---
Okay, So Saturday, we roam around and then we head to Rainforest Cafe for Lunch.......we enjoy our meal, we are sort of experimenting with my new camera....etc. Son is roaming the menu and learning stuff, etc. while I finish my food.....And then it happens.....He said OMG, and puts his hand to cover his eyes........I am like "what?" What happened.? I thought for a second that he saw someone he knows that he does not want to talk to........
he then tells me that he just erased all my 240 photos I had taken!!!!!
OMG...OMG!!!! :sad:

Yep, I was feeling it all.....
He said he was sorry, I told him did he not know how much most of those photos meant to me!!!! Then, I had a grown up moment and just let it go.
I did not complain about it anymore..........he said we can redo the photos.....
So as we left.. we did return to DLH and re-took some special shots. But not ALL the shots I took. What was funny to me, was the night before I took his photo in front of the "N" in front o Calif. Adventure and I knew he did not want to do that again, but he did. He just walked over and let me take the photo. He knew how much It meant to me. ha ha ha

We did the best we could in re-capturing moments lost. oh well. Live and learn. what can you do or say. I had a GREAT! got of myself (and trust me I do not like taking photos of myself) in front of the Mickey 50th!!!! That was not able to be re-done. darn it.

Sunday - It was just so hot. We went to Critter Country for lunch. Ate down below and enjoyed the view and shade and it was just comfy as could be. We did not spend as much time in the parks as I had hoped and planned to....but the heat just is too draining. We ended up going in and watched a movie! ha ha ha :goodvibes

.....Prime Time Shuttle picked us up at 5:40pm for 9:45/10pm flight. (bit of a delay).

Overall: I LOVEd CCI!!!! The beds are so comfy! and when you are sore and tired, that is what counts. Find a motel/hotel with a GREAT bed! Just being across the street is not good enought when you really have some sore muscles/bones to rest. The Breakfast was fantastic! The shuttle was very much appreciated! (free!!!).

Crowds --- yep, lots of people during summer. I do like the summer hours compared to Fall when they close at 6pm or 7pm. Too dang early for my taste.

OH!!!! one more thing. You were right and I was wrong..........You were right and I was wrong.........I was wrong and you were right.........

the fireworks -what is it called, Dreams come True.....
We went to Innoventions and was the last group to enter and thus, we were able to veiw the fireworks from up above! It is fantastic!!!! Just fantastic.
Do they show something on IASW??? I think I saw something! I preferred that spot where we were.....nice and quite and something to lean on. Beautiful and I was a bit ver klempt listening to Walt. :guilty:
