I am a WDW pro, but not so much with DL. This is our first trip to CA. We would like to go to DL, Six Flags Magic Mt and Sandiego Zoo. I know San dieago is a good drive, but I need help with lodging. I would like to stay somewhere centrally located between six flags and DL. Is that possible. I know nothing about the southern ca area. We did not need a luxury hotel, just somewhere clean and in a safe area. We are going to be there June 22-28, 2006. Are the crowds high during this time of year, I would assume so.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Personally,I would skip Six Flags and do Knott's instead. It's nothing but traffic to go back and forth from Six Flags to Disneyland and I don't care much for it anyway. I always thought it was dirtier than the other parks and more of a rougher element. Unless you're a roller coaster junkie, there's lots more to do closer to Disneyland.

If you want to do DL and Magic Mountain, I would not suggest trying to stay in one central location due to the drive and the traffic. Los Angeles would probably be the most central that I would stay at and that's a 45 mins. to a 1 hour drive to DL without traffic (there's nothing between L.A. and DL that a visitor would want to stay at. It's all residential or industry except for a modest outlet mall and a casino in the City of Commerce). Driving to Valencia where Magic Mountain is from L.A. is probably a 45 mins. drive with normal traffic.

Personally, I would just stay in Anaheim and either do a one day, long drive to and from Magic Mouintain or move to a hotel nearby for a night or two. Dealing with the traffic is not worth it.
