Nice thread. SF was exactly what my wife and I were thinking of doing on our next trip to Disneyland since we have done about all there is to do in San Diego. I just hadn't asked the question yet, but driving does look like the answer to me, especially since we already do a rental car when we arrive at LAX every trip.
Anyone know how many days you should do in SF to see things like Fishermans Warf, Chinatown, Golden Gate Bridge, and of course the Walt Disney Family Museum (thats close by isn't it?)?
How far is Visalia out of the way, I have family in Visalia?
You could probably do that in 1-1/2 days. I'd also recommend going to Marin County - maybe Muir Woods, the Marin Headlands, Point Reyes, and/or Sausalito.
Visalia? That is not along the way. That would be a long detour. If you're going to spend a night it won't be too bad. I've been to Visalia during the summer, and was hot like all of the Central Valley.
Just throw in your destinations on Google Maps. That should give you a good estimate. However, you'll need to fudge for rush hour traffic.
