Hi there! We are making our first trip to DL in September. We just moved our room to the Hyatt House Convention Center. It says it's within walking distance to the parks. We won't have a car. So, my question for anyone who's stayed there or near there is-how far do they consider "walking distance". Is it going to be a long walk at the end of the day when I am already tired? :P

I have been do DW many times and some days it's exhausting just getting to the bus stops. Are there other transportation options I should consider? Any help is appreciated!!!

Google maps shows it's .6 mile away. That definitely is walkable to me but eveyone is different. There is also ART but I don't think it'd be worth it since you aren't that far away.

Totally walkable. I thought I knew where it was, and checked googlemaps and yes, it's totally walkable. Either cross there to the park's side of Harbor or cross later, either way! Staying at Hilton or even at Anabella (where going this way is the LONG way) we like to stop by the CVS (across Harbor from Hyatt House) to grab waters or snacks (or sunglasses or other necessities we've forgotten) on the way to or from parks.

I see the Hyatt house is pretty new - I was looking at it for our trip as well, especially when I saw it was less than the Homewood Suites I had booked, of course then I ran my Homewood dates again and realized the rates went down, so rebooked with better rate.

OP please share your review of Hyatt House, I may yet switch depending on rates and a few more stellar reviews (though I'm pleased with the location of the Homewood Suites Convention Center, looks like we can easily hop onto Toy Story parking lot bus but being even closer to walk ourselves would be great!) :)

We stayed a little farther away for part of our trip last time (about 1.5 miles from door to maingate - walked past the convention center) and it was totally manageable, but everyone's tolerance/ability for walking is different. I didn't even find it that bad to walk back at the end of a long day. It was a little far for us to walk back in the middle of the day for a rest as we lost ~45 min of the day just to walking for the break. You will be closer than we were, so I think you will be fine!

I'll be sure to review. My husband's company is paying for it so I am not sure if we got a good deal or not. He'll be there for a conference and my daughter and I are tagging along and going to the parks while he's working! :)

I booked this hotel for Thanksgiving weekend. It looks very nice! Its MUCH cheaper than the comparable Springhill Suites accross the street!
I have been to DLR many times... but love the new hotels being bulit! The breakfast looks nice too!
