Have any of you been to DL over the summer AND Superbowl weekend? If so, how is it different crowd wise? I'm thinking of going over Superbowl 2008. I already noticed one resort hotel is already completely booked, but I'm not going to start worrying yet.

A lot of people say that it's the least crowded weekend of the year, and so far, I agree... I noticed a HUGE difference between Superbowl weekend and just about any day in the summer; some days it seems like twice the amount of people... Summer is the peak season so if you have a choice, it's best to go with your first option. ;)

Typically the Superbowl would bring visitors to the city where it is played. With that said it is being played in Arizona this year -- I don't think you will have a crowd.

We were in Orlando at WDW this year on Super Bowl Sunday and the parks were DEAD.

I would go and have a BLAST!

It is sometimes light crowds, but occassionally there will be huge crowds that day for no apparent reason. A couple of years ago we went on Superbowl Sunday knowing it had been empty on years past, but that year it was a nightmare and we just left. Be sure to look for other things going on that week/end - like cheer competitions, large conventions, school holidays, etc.

I went on Superbowl Sunday in 1998 and it was *awful* - more crowded than on a normal busy summer day! I swore I'd never go on Superbowl Sunday again. So I haven't. :-)

The most recent Superbowl Sunday was also very busy.
