This will be our first trip to Disneyland in early March 2005 from Sunday March 6 to Saturday March 12. What what can we expect? (Park Hours, Crowds, Weather and any other information that may impact our vacation.)

Thanks for your help!

I can't be of too much help but to tell you that DLR has 3 season: value, regular and peak and March falls into the regular category. I would guess there would be some larger crowds due to spring breaks and stuff.

BTW welcome to the boards!!

Since easter is the last week of march, I think that week wouldn't be too crowded, and will probably have the regular hours (meaning the shorter hours, not the peak season hours). Last year there was a week when a lot of Canadians had off and they did raise their hours, I think it was the end of March but I don't remember which week it was. Also the raise in hours wasn't really publicized. Howard was scheduled till midnight like usually, and all of a sudden after the schedule came out they decided to change the hours, and they extened them all to 2 am. So it was a spur of the moment change in hours

Funny you mention that. We took our DS for his 5th birthday on March 11th this year and we had a great time. We stayed at the DLH for 3 nights, Thursday-Sunday. Being from the Southern California area, I knew it would get crowded. So, we did both parks on the weekday and it worked out well. We did the most important things we could in those 2 days. It wasn't too crowded so no long waits in line. For the things we missed, we came back on the weekend and did those. Plus, it gave us a chance to relax at the hotel during the weekend. I'm glad we did it this way because the weekend was sooo crowded! It just so happened that the weather was nice during our stay so this may explain the crowds. I would suggest doing something like this as well. BTW, make sure you book your character dining early. They tend to fill up really quickly!

I always check the black-out days on the DL annual passes to see what Disney is anticipating the crowds to be (it's easy to check if you go to the DL web site). I think that your week is okay but the two weeks that start on March 20 must be a popular Spring Break period as those weeks are blocked.

Also, if you book a package through AAA, you can get unlimited fast passes which are just heavenly during busy periods. :smooth:
