Hi all you wonderful Disney fanatics like myself!!!pluto: We haven't been to DL since 2006 for Halloween. The last two years we have gone to WDW, but........this year it's DL again!!!! So excited. :woohoo:

So I can't find the calendar online for January or February, of course, one of the things about DL that makes it hard to plan.

Can somebody please let me know how traveling to DL that time of year is?

What have the park hours tended to be?

Would you pick late Jan or early Feb???

Will there only be Fantasmic on the weekends?

Where would you stay (we're trying to do spend less $$ this time, stayed at PP last time)???

I would love to hear from Dis'ers that have gone to DL this time of year!! Thanks in advance for what I already know will be valuable advice. :wizard:

Fantasmic is slated to be down for refurb during the first several months of the new year while they drain the Rivers of America. If you go during that time, the rivers will be drained so there will be no access to Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island, no Mark Twain, Columbia or canoes.

i would pick feb, but avoid presidents day weekend. we are going at the end of feb this year. we are stayng at hojos for the first time. amazing reviews, and if you use the entertainment card for your dates, you can get half off! they have the begining of feb open for dates!

Thanks for the quick replies!

So no Fantasmic in January or February!! That's horrible. Where did you get this info DangerMouse???

I have read much on the boards about this entertainment card ashpinoza. What is it and where do I get one???

Thanks all!!!

Both Darkbeer (on various fan sites) and Al Lutz from MiceAge (very reliable resources on DLR happenings) have mentioned the RoA drainage and refurb that is to take place from Jan-April of next year.

Entertainment cards are in the front of Entertainment coupon books. These books are commonly sold as school fundraisers, but also can be purchased at entertainment.com.
